Final Panthers Cuts

Think it'd be a huge mistake to let Wegher go. He is the only back built for 20+ carries a game on this team - except for Stewart, but Stewart breaks down after 4-5 games.

We have to be honest here. Stewart will more than likely get hurt by the midpoint of the season. Wegher and CAP are the only backs that can take up his role. Every one else is a 3rd down, change of pace type running back.

Fozzy is a third down scat back. Far from complete.

Why do you think they brought in 3 more running backs this offseason, one of which is an upgraded Fozzy.

We ppicked up one RB(Todman). DG is bpa in the draft so CAP was bpa and Wegher was a good development player. He'll man we picked a 2nd round WR, a FA WR,  and a UDFA WR but that does not mean KB sucks.  It's about depth.

Like it or not Fozzy is better than Wegher and playing time shows.

Well there's also Tolbert, frankly we normally keep just 3 pure HB with Tolbert as a HB/FB.

I'm thinking they could keep 5, but I'm just not sure where they make up for it. Webb? 5 receivers? Not sure.

I normally don't count Tolbert as a RB since they list him at FB, but yeah, keep him too. Gotta keep Webb too, and 6 receivers. My solution for keeping 'em all is in the post above- special unlimited roster just for the Panthers.

Fozzy is making the team, it's never been a question. Can't wait for the reactions. I think a grand total of 4 of us voted for Fozzy in that 'who will make the team' poll. For some reason people forgot all about him tearing it up in the playoffs because some dude was able to run on 4th stringers.

    • Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.
    • The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
