Seahawks are talking to teams about trading Kam Chancellor

I think what Gettleman is trying to do is build a formula here.  I think that's the route we are going to take for long term success.  Other teams have mastered this. You can already see it in the player/personnel part of it.   Shaq looks like a young TD and is eventually going to be his replacement,  KB, Funchess and now Norwood are all 6'4 and above. Unless the talent is exceptional you can pretty much bet any WR we draft is going to be 6ft 4 and up.  After drafting like that for years and that is assuming it works, then you the "Carolina Panther" forumula.  I'm not saying Kam wouldn't be a huge upgrade, I'm just saying we would more likely draft the new Kam Chancelor than pay for the original.

We have seen time and time again. It doesn't matter how much the FA would help in the short /medium term.  We aren't going after them. Gettleman is going to build throught the draft using the BPA forumula + Pay the young core + No high priced free agents * Strong Defense = the Panther formula.

Very good points. I'd also like to add that FA simply doesn't have a lot to offer. You look at who was available and most were overpaid coughbyronmaxwellcough. I think Gettleman only makes an exception when someone like Randall Cobb hits FA. Man, imagine how great he'd be for us.

Agree but my message was mainly talking about the old veterans part of your original message. Having to plug-n-play old guys to patch things over I dont think is apart of Gettlemans long term plan..its drafting players and keeping them and if we do it right we may be in the same situation Seattle is in one day.

I really think the plug-n-play old guys is just a temporary thing while we get from under Hurneys bad moves and rebuild..Gettleman knows like we all do the best teams build through the draft and do not keep players too long past their prime.

It's one thing to trade a conditional 7th rounder in 2017 for a guy they were going to cut anyway-a trade I loved btw.  It's another for them to literally trade us (logically their biggest competition over the next 5-10 years) the heart and soul of their D, and the very reason they beat our team in the playoffs last January.

I LOVE what's going on there and I hope he holds firm and/or does get traded.  But 0% chance it's to us.  And that's A-OK.

Trade Stewart, Kalil, and a 2nd for him.

Let's think about this. They just extended Marshawn Lynch, one of the best backs in the game, and signed Fred Jackson. The reason they are rumored to be trading Kam, is because he makes too much money.

And you want to trade them STEWART?????

how fuged up were there GM need to be to make that trade
