Nicolas Cage, The Carolina Panthers, and how they are Related

Great article. You've really uncovered something that was right in front of our faces. Your post perfectly spells out the obvious correlation between the Panthers success and Nicholas Cage... much like this article:

Now the article goes on with a bunch of words...blah blah blah...but the point is that when things happen at the same time they are a direct cause of each other. Now let's bring this back around to the matter at hand...Nick Cage and the Panthers with some NextGen stats.

Leaving Las Vegas is arguably Nick Cage's best movie. When did that movie come out you ask? Well 1995 is the answer. What happened to the Panthers in 1995? That's right...Inception (not the movie).

What other movie did I like from Nicholas Cage? Matchstick Men. I thought it was a nice story of a conman getting conned and played into his strengths as an actor (being what they are). What year did the movie Matchstick Men get released? That's right. 2003. What happened to the Panthers in 2003...you know I think.

What other year did the Panthers make it to the NFC Championship or beyond you might ask. Well the answer is 1996. Well ok then but I suppose the real question then is what movie did Nick Cage come out with in that particular year? None other than The motherfuging Rock (emphasis mine). That movie was bad ass and had Sean Connery in it. Nuff said.

You know who was the costar of Nick Cage in Matchstick Men? That's right...none other Sam Rockwell. How about the costar in Leaving Las Vegas? Karate Kid's own Elisabeth Shue (I'm sure you remember her). Well as we can see here (thanks to https://oracleofbacon.org/movielinks.php) Sam Rockwell and Elisabeth Shue have a very real connection:

So friends...I think it's clear that since there will be another Annual Critics' Choice Awards this year...the Panthers can reasonably expect to make it to (at least) the NFC Championship game. Now that's some NextGen stats right there.

Imagine if Brooklyn Decker and Steph Curry had a kid, and Jeremy Igo took the baby photos of the kid wearing SCP's helmet while facing BOA and periscoped it live on his podcast with special guest Cam Newton. It would be like some holy trinity of Panthers awesome.

      Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.

      Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
