Neither of them think he should get it, but it's still surprising to see Cam discussed positively (or the Panthers discussed at all) on First Take. (Skip does says we're the worst 3-0 team, although I obviously think we're better than the Falcons, but whatever).

Both of them also side with Cam in Hochuli-gate:

Skip:  Panthers have to go 14-2 for Cam to be CONSIDERED in the MVP race.

What.  The.  fug?  14-2?  Really?

Dick The Butcher: takes anything Skip Bayless says seriously

How have people still not figured out that it is HIS JOB to be controversial. If he was "rational fan X" no one would care.

I assume he meant with the current stats Cam's putting up. Projecting over the course of a season that's 4300 total yards and 37 total TDs (rush and pass). For Cam to get the MVP over Rodgers or Brady in that case, I think the Panthers would have to end up with a really good record.

But the Falcons have a flashy offense!! Duh, that makes them like the greatest team evar! Like omg that high flying flashy offense is like totally awesome, like totally. Best. Team. Evar.

And yet, despite all that offensive firepower, Matt Ryan is still the most boring competent-to-good QB in the NFL haha. He's Flacco minus the super bowl ring.

I'm not taking what he said seriously.  It's widely known how much of a tool he is.  I'm just stating the obvious.

The twitter poll on their show was #MVP4Cam

Yes got 58%, so the public is getting the message

Or the Carolinas watch First Take.

The narrative is changing with Cam but it is still rooted in rumors, assumptions and lies. The growth that is often discussed is code for fake smile, towel head, stolen laptop nonsense that abounded when Cam came out.

Some talk about his growth as an actual QB but most are simply referring to the tired and lazy narrative that was always there.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
