Have We Really Beaten Anyone?

It's fantastic starting out 4 and 0. I couldn't ask for a more impressive start from my Panthers. Our O-line is protecting our Franchise. Cam looks better than ever. Our defense looks poised to be dominant; one of, if not the best, defenses in the NFL this season. We all expect a healthy Luke to be back for our next game. We should be riding into this bye flying high right? Yeah of course to some degree... but we can't afford to be complacent.

I think it's good to look at what we've done so far, and instead of being awestruck by the success,we should be feeling we still have everything to prove. The Super Bowl isn't won in the first four weeks. We're far from our goal. Our players and our coaches should not relax for a minute. We need to emerge on the 18th hungry and prepared to stomp some faces.

Luckily we are facing the Seahawks coming out of the bye. It only takes a short-memory to harbor ill-feelings towards this team. They've beaten us again and again-most recently and painfully in the Divisional round last year. According to my research we haven't beaten them since Dec. 16th, 2007. We have a grudge and we need satisfaction. We haven't beaten anyone yet. Now is not the time to bask in the glory of starting 4 and Oh. Now is the time to focus in and prepare for greatness. Now is the time to show the world and the media that the Carolina Panthers are for real and that the Superbowl is coming through Charlotte, North Carolina.

You can only play the teams that are on the schedule and everyone knows the old adage "any given Sunday."

Well, we've won every-given Sunday so far and yes, the Jags are a dangerous team. The 'Phins were supposed to be on the up and up. We can't control the Saints being without Breea (even though McCown or whoever it was that played performed as good, if not better than Bree's might have.)

im just tired of the argument, these teams that we've played have just played good or better teams than they are and by it being any-given Sunday, these teams haven't won much.

everyone knows who the better teams are, but that doesn't mean they can't be beaten. We'll play 4-solid teams that we may be under-dogs against come game day.

We'll see what kind of team we have after the bye and then we can start debating. Till then, we've beaten teams we were favored against on paper.

We've beaten everyone they've scheduled us to play so far. This is the NFL, not the WWE ... we can't just sneak attack the Patriots on their practice field and go four quarters on them.

That would be pretty wild if you got one surprise game a year... Danged Patriots would bring in a folding metal chair every time, though.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
