Have We Really Beaten Anyone?

The point everyone here is missing is that it is better for our team to feel as though we haven't achieved anything thus far. We are far from our goal and we need to stay hungry. Everyone here seems to want to puff out their chest and act like we're already king of the hill.

If our players and coaches take this same attitude then we will likely be struck down and embarrassed sooner vs later. I never dogged our wins. All I said we need to stay humble and hungry going into the bye.

The big difference is this, and most were hoping that we would come out of this "easy" stretch 2-2 or 3-1, but in the past we would have found a way to lose one of these games. Peanut said it best on first take (yeah, i actually watched the show for a minute), it's the  culture in that locker room. If you don't believe and you don't step up, you're not going to be around. Teams will see film on us and wonder how Cam is doing what he's doing. It starts up front. He has protection. Will that mean more blitzes in the future? Probably. And hopefully he'll look a check down options or Shula can instill drag routes like the one we saw on Sunday with the younger receiver. Either way, our schedule doesn't look as hard as it did two months ago. We will know for sure if Ron can conjure his first ever win after a bye week.

I'm struggling to describe this team but I don't think it is "we suck but are 4-0 because our opposition sucks."

Defense is playing below its potential and so is the offense. We are in the next three games easily...

But the biggest thing I think we have going for us is a 5th year coach and a 5th year QB

Weren't you slobbing Russell Wilsons knob on the Huddle after the NFC championship game last season?  You starting this type of thread with the Seahawks as our next opponent makes perfect sense.

I just hate the attitude of most huddlers. So much insecurity. There's a strange infatuation with RW vs Cam. It's so binary. There can only be one good mobile black QB in the league. Cam is good and Russell is bad or Russell is good and Cam is bad. There's no way they can both be good. It's nonsense.

Wilson's latest antics being petty ab the contract extension coupled with his sleazy recovery water claims and the Ciara god talking has made me question his mental state and character. As a football player though you've got to give the kid respect. At the very least he's earned that and just because you admit that, it doesn't mean Cam sucks.

We are notoriously slow starters.

We lost our #1 WR.  We lost Star for 3 games.  We lost Luke for 3 games.  That is a LOT of talent up the gut.  We lost Johnson for a game.

Wins don't have to be pretty.  This team will gel, and when it does, it will be nice.

Who in the NFC HAS beaten anyone?

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
