Norman's Pass deflection

Yea hopefully they can get a deal worked out before FA, but the days of potentially getting him at $10mil a year are probably gone.  We're probably looking at closer to $12+mil per year now.  Still worth it.  Hope Gettleman can make it happen.  Norman is as responsible for our defensive excellence this year as anyone on the defense (and I'm including Luke).

I agree Jawny....

CLTPanther would you rather Cason or Melvin White instead.

We have a player from the Carolina's who loves playing for us.  Deserves the money but you don't think he is worth it?  His ability to take away a receiver makes this defense as awesome as it is.

Last thing I want to see is us let go of a top talent.   He is a core player.  Do the right thing and keep him.

It's imperative we keep Josh now that we don't have much talented pass rushers. We could get away with mediocre talent in the backfield in 2013 because of the rush.

Unless DG wants to use that money to sign a top rusher but that would be even more expensive. We finally have some balance on defense.

We're 7th in the league in QB hurries.

Pass rush seems fine to me.

Remind me. Who else is a free agent next year?

After this season?  Norman and Remmers.

After 2016?  Lotulelei (though I believe the team has a 5th year option on him), Short, and to a lesser extent, Oher.

In other words, I don't think Big Money and Stew last with this team past this season.  Probably Tolbert as well.

I disagree.  Though I don't see the point in worrying about any of this stuff to begin with.  We don't have nearly enough information to make truly educated guesses about how any cap-related roster moves will shake out.  All I know is that losing Stewart with the way he's played this year would be a blow to our team.  I also expect a big boost to our D-Line when Big Money returns, though if that doesn't occur, maybe he become a little more expendable.

CJ and Stew are still valuable, productive members of this team, indeed.

Salary compared to production?  That's a whole 'nother bailiwick.

Josh is outstanding, man.

I truly hope we keep him here because he epitomizes keep pounding in his own way.

He climbed out of that doghouse in the gutter and now he is playing consistently at an elite level.   I believe Gettleman can do it.  The guy is will always be a Panther to me no matter what though.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
