Refs

I watched only part of the game (had to work). I see on here a lot of people getting mad at the refs. I watched it with a packer fan and fans of other teams and they said the refs were helping Carolina. The only bad call I saw them make was the no pi call on funch on 3rd and 5.

Were they pretty bad and giving the game to Green Bay and those people were acting butt hurt? Also, what were some other bad calls? Other than that 8-0! Terry Bradshaw and all the other haters can eat bag of genitals.

It was a strange game because the refs were missing calls on both sides. GB got away with a PI, and we got away with one as well. GB was holding our d-line, but our d-line was using hands to the face to try and get pressure. It was a poorly called game for both sides. Panther fans will feel the calls were going for GB, and vice versa. I like a well called game, but this game was a mess.

refs have too much power over the game. There's too much interpretation of the rulebook going on and because of that we see inconsistent calls. I feel like every week there's a new interpretation of a catch. The calls were bad both ways. They missed a PI on tillman. A series or 2 later they missed a guy riding Funchess' back for 5 yards which was crucial. They're missing BLATANT calls yet making ticky tack grey area calls all too often. Unfortunately, the NFL thinks this makes the game more exciting even though it completely takes away from the skill in the game.

  1. I thought the three review plays were absolutely a crime.  Had we been on the other end of that int review it never would have gone in our favor.
  2. There was not enough to overturn the spot with Cam Newton.
  3. They would have scored anyway, but the review on the goaline was the same as above.  If they overturned the above play this ones should have been overturned.

The officating and reviews should be called out for this.

they let us play physical because Green bay was attempting to match it in return... opposite of  happened a few years back against 49ers in the playoffs.  Glad refs let it go, we really can flex it when needed lol love the direction we are headed mentally as well

Not to mention the no-call screen/pick play that they ran for Cobb on their 4th down. Rodgers didn't see him, but they call that poo all the time on Greg and there was no laundry to be seen.

Watching it, I'm thinking "what benefits the pack" and that's basically how the calls went, specifically replay reviews

i don't understand the 50/50 comments...

The reffing and calls in this game were so blatantly in the favor of the Packers.  The game was over if... the first down stands... overturned!  The game was over if the pass interference was called that was so obvious it would take you more work to not see it than see it.  The game was over if the interception that was clearly not an interception was overturned.

And that is not to mention a time out that the refs didn't recognize... huh?   or the holding on every freaking play

    • Poster board? Were you trying to use the term poster child?
    • I mean, you're acting like we don't see the tippy-toe bunny hops, jump throws more than normal (with both feet dangling in the air every which a way), and off-platform but off-balance throws that arrive short or sail high. Could that be bad mechanics due to being short? Could a seeming propensity to bail the pocket towards the sidelines early as opposed to sitting in the pocket tall and strong, surveying his reads, be an attempt at trying to see an open throwing lane? I'm not saying that what you're saying isn't a contributing factor to what has been an underwhelming display of executing the QB position, but this is year three, and if the lightbulb hasn't switched on by now---if you haven't figured out that guys are faster, stronger and generally more athletic, then what's it going to take? It's hard to forget that "mental processing" was supposed to be Bryce Young's superpower. Are you telling me that he can't nail down such an easy concept as, "I can't get away with the things I did in college at the pro level," is that right? If he can't get past that, then that surely limits his ability to successfully execute all the other stuff.  Look, I'm not trying to be flippant. I acknowledge that playing pro football is more complex than a lot of fans realize, but all we can do, as fans, is observe. One of my favorite things to do is just look at the greater picture and think what part human nature is playing in the many decisions that are being made or have to be made. You're absolutely correct that fans don't know exactly what's going on, but that is by design, and in many ways it's just the nature of the beast. Some things we can't know. That being said, the professionals screw the hell up all the time. The professionals disagree all the time. These disagreements can be within the same franchise or from franchise to franchise. And sometimes these decisions are all over the place, so excuse me if I ain't exactly buying the I-know-more-than-thee sentiment and that that means that professionals always make better decisions than fans would about certain players. Some of this stuff is simply luck or a crapshoot.
