Seriously, how does it happen? (Visiting fans)

I don't post often, so, sorry if this is a re-post...

But I just don't understand how there are seemingly always SO many opposing fans in BofA?  Yesterday (at least on TV) it sounded awfully loud when the Panthers were on offense, and the commentators kept talking about how many Packer fans were there.

So... how does that happen?  Aren't all lower level tickets owned by PSL holders?  I can understand some people trying to take the opportunity to price gouge the heck out of tickets when the demand is as high as it is... but how in the heck did THAT many Packer fans get tickets???  Surely if you care enough about the Panthers to own PSL's and buy the season tickets year in and year out, you'd maybe want to go to such a gigantic game, rather than sell your tickets to visiting fans.

I hated hearing Cam say "Green Bay travels well."  BS.  99% of those Packer fans were from Gaston County.

Anyway... that crap just irritates the crap out of me, and I honestly think in instances like this, there should be some sort of penalty for selling your tickets to visiting fans.

Packers fans who live in the Carolinas were willing to pay a premium to see their team play.

The tickets were going for over $200 for 500 level seats. A lot of Panther fans decided they couldn't pass up that kind of return on a $50 ticket. I just wish all Panther fans would try to sell their tickets to other Panther fans if they decide not to go or can't make it to the game.

I was working uptown Saturday night, and trust me, there were a ton of Packer fans that were not from Gaston County. The Aloft was full of them and literally every single bar in the Epicenter and around it was full of Packers fans. I almost wondered if maybe they traveled kind of like the Roaring Riot does, they had to have a fan club come down here.

There are hundreds / thousands of tickets available on ticketexchange and Stubhub for every game.  Bottom line is that the Packers have a big, enthusiastic fanbase and these folks show-up to away games.

However ... don't get too discouraged.  Panther fans are showing up for away games too.

Panther fans are on equal footing to purchase tickets.  They just don't because the games are getting expensive. Other than a direct sell to an opposing team's fan, I don't blame the reseller that much. Sure, your fandom can be called into question if you're so hungry for cash to not go to the damn game. But honestly it's the people purchasing that get a limited chance to see their team and are willing to fork over for the high price

It boils down to $$$ and the reality is that visiting fans will pay more for tickets than local Panther 'fans', especially for the lower level seats.  Guy I know sold his tickets in the lower lever for more than double face for the Packers game, not sure who he sold them to, but I bet they were Packers fans.

    • It’s like being on the Flyers broadcast team feed so far
    • Boy the flyers look good early. Lots of bad plays and slow start by our team. Hope that changes before the score changes.
    • I guess I should have stipulated outside the sacred cow.   I complained from year one that Bryce should compete for and win the starting job on his own merit but no he was just handed it. I have been right there with everyone that wants competition.  But I don’t really have a huge problem with it for this season the way it has gone because where are the viable people we don’t have to trade for? I actually am okay with tiny hands Pickett because he is so close to Bryce arm strength wise and to be honest, skill wise. Probably. And it is only a one year deal.  That also takes into account that the QB class is looking stacked next year and if Young fails miserably then we get either a reset or a real competition and there will be more guys that I would like looking at in the FA QB class next year as well.    I sort of accept where we are this year and look at it as another treading water year (at QB). I just want to get to next year with some clarity. More than anything. And they did empty out the room (behind him anyway). Again, who was really there for us?  And I know it would not be a true competition at this point anyway. They are giving him the year, like it or not.    Also I don’t give a poo about winning games IF he sucks and or goes down after sucking because draft position and that stacked QB class.  And I want out from under him So Bad.     So I guess it is several factors that lessen my anxiety over his backup this particular season.    I am not trying to convince anyone, but you asked. That’s how I look at it.
