I say NE, no knock on Cam, but I only say that because Derek Anderson is a legit backup. Hell he could start for at least 5 different teams right now

Maybe, but Matt Cassell won 11 games and I think went to a Pro Bowl in that system

Matt.  Cassell.

I don't think so because we'd have to change the entire offense. We would be forced to go to a more traditional running game and I don't see that going well for DA. Cam is our offense.

NE showed with Cassell that you could plug someone else and not miss a step.

The Patriots went 11-5 with Matt Cassel. They've been pounding the piss out of that weak division for years.

The thing you cannot understate is what Cam Newton brings to our run game. That element completely changes our offense.

With the best offensive cast in history, none of which are still on the team.

Against the easiest schedule in NFL history.

2008 has nothing to do with now. That team would be just as fuged without Tom as the Panthers would be without Cam.

Has less to do with the schedule, more the AFC East itself.

There was a statistic ESPN put out during one of the Patriots recent games, think it might have been against the Colts.

Anyways, the only other QB to win the AFC East since 2001 was Chad Pennington. Twice. Once with the Dolphins, once with the Jets. Not exactly awe inspiring competition there.

It would be a tough go for New England without Tom Brady, but there is no doubt that they've had a pretty favorable road to the postseason through their division for many years now.

First of all. Why is Matt Cassell part of the 2015 MVP discussion? For that matter why is Jimmy Garapolo or Derek Anderson? This is between Cam, Brady, and Carson. This isn't about how bad these teams would be without them. It's about how good they are with them. This award is about excellence.

Right now Brady, Cam, and Carson are displaying excellence. Compare their excellence. The people that get caught up in "value to team" are missing what really matters. Don't take "MVP" so literal.

TheRed is right Cam has incredible value to our running game that most national writers will never understand. He makes so many changes at the line of scrimmage and decisions in the option game that most lazy journalists will never evaluate.

He's been getting really fricking good at controlling the line of scrimmage too. He had the Redskins jumping offside at will. Sometimes he was letting them reset just to be nice. These advanced Quarterbacking traits have been on full display this year and they do not appear in the stat sheets.

I am sorry but giving to the same players year in year out is ridiculous.

The usual suspects of Manning, Brady and Rodgers.....it is time for different guy..Cam is the most deserving.

why? if they are the most valuable you suggest just give it to someone else even though they might deserve it less? Cam is right there with Brady and Palmer, but we know people are looking for reasons not to give it to our boy. Just dont be disappointed if he doesn't get the award. Besides, he wants the Super Bowl more and we should all be thankful about that.

MVP should go to the guy that means the most to his (winning) team. That's Cam Newton and its not even close

It should be Adrian Peterson if you want to argue that. Everyone saw what a trainwreck they were last season for the most part and now they are looking like an 11-5 team.
