Will the Nation view us as #1?

Have the Panthers ever been nationally viewed as the best team in football? I sure as heck don't thank so.

The Patriot's weapons have crumbled and they are no longer undefeated. Arizona just barely beat a bad team in the 49ers, and had to get help from the refs to accomplish that feat.

Top that off with the fact that we just got done smashing the Cowgirls on one of the most widely viewed games of the season, and I've got to think that it's not just those in Carolina that think we're #1.

In the end, public perception counts for jack. However, if it leads to a bigger fan base and better media coverage, than I'm all for it.

Keep Pounding!

I guess we'll find out Wednesday when they release those power rankings if that's your thing. However, I imagine they find a way to make excuses for Patriots at #1 and push Denver ahead of us. But no fugs given. On to the Saints.

Nope. Give up some explanation of if the patriots were healthy or some bs. Knowing good and well we lost our number one receiver for the year and had multiple games without luke, ryan kalil, charles johnson, etc.  We didn't cry over it. They have to have it fit their agenda that there is a better team than the panthers. Panthers best team in nfl? Can't have that, no sir.

Power ratings are basically the teams sorted by record with media bias to break any ties.  I could write a computer algorithm to come up with accurate power rankings in a matter of minutes.

Thus, we will be a near-unaminous #1 this week but the media will hate every second of it.

Some of you crack me up. The Panthers will be #1 in every major power poll tomorrow. Underdog role is gone for good.

I'm not so sure. People will look at the Pats "barely losing" in Denver and without Gronk (even though he played 95% of the game) as not meaning much and if he's not out for the year they'll probably still regard the Pats as #1. If we were playing in Denver next week I guarantee you they'd be favored by pretty much everybody.

Yes, definitely more crow eating by the media...

But actually, I'm beginning to wonder if they're not beginning to be excited by the Panthers.  After all, we're fun to watch.  We're balanced on offense & defense, with both sides of the ball making spectacular plays.    We've got legit superstars in Cam & Luke, (Cam being Mr. personality plus, and just such a joy to watch when he's having fun.)  and J-No is a trip and a GREAT interview....   combined with the story & passion of TD.  There's a LOT to like.  Yes, we're a small market.  But apart from that, I think the media will find that the Panthers are not too shabby for ratings.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
