2015 Arizona Cardinals

Look eerily familiar to the Cardinal team led by Kurt Warner that went to the Super Bowl after trouncing Carolina by 20.

Not saying they could get past a Panther defense better than Minnesota, but their WRs, except for Larry Fitz, are fast and it seemed like they just kept bringing out one TE after another to catch passes against whichever LB the Vikes put in coverage. Carson Palmer looks pretty damn good breaking Warner's Cardinal all-time single-season passing TD record (31).

I'd prefer not getting into a shootout with these guys, but I do think it'll be Arizona, Green Bay or Seattle in Charlotte in a few weeks...

More than likely we will have to play 2 out of the 3 teams you named. As far as the Cardinals go, the difference between the team that got torched in the playoffs and the team we have now is almost night and day. We had a qb on the decline in that game that never gave us a chance. Currently we have an MVP nominee leading us. I do believe the cardinals this year are similar to their 2011 version. However, the 2015 Panthers are lightyears ahead of the 2011 version. I can't see ANY team in the NFL whooping us like that with the locker room we have currently.

I just want all our players in pads and available for the playoffs. We have 4 more games to work out the kinks and get all these new players coming off injury to shake off the rust and our younger/new additions to be up to speed, hitting on all cylinders.

I still don't think we've seen this team's best football and certainly haven't seen them put a full 60-minutes in a game without leaving points on the field because of drops, miscues and turnovers.

until we see that, these guys just need to keep pounding.

That Cardinals team was 8-8 coming off a blowout loss to the Patriots and then got hot at the perfect time. Very different team.

More importantly, that Panthers team was a paper tiger with a QB that had been bailed out by a fantastic run game and defense.

I remember feeling like it was a matter of time before our good fortune with Jake that year ran out, and after we dominated the first offensive drive of that game, the floodgates opened.

Exactly.

And this team can win in any fashion.  We can get into a shootout and beat you....we can get into a defensive battle and beat you.

We are really the ONLY complete team in the NFL right now....

My thoughts on AZ.

1.  They seem to be dependent on the deep ball.  They are good at it.  But if the deep ball doesn't get them in they tend to struggle punching it in.

2.  Defensively, IMO they often can be overly aggressive.

3.  I think a team that can rush 4 and keep the big play limited matches up well with the O.

4.  Against their D, you have to have a QB that can make them pay for the manner in which they pressure.   This was early Cam's nightmare....this is what current Cam thrives against.

I actually think Carolina matches up just fine with them. Would be a good game.  We would need to be healthy on D though

I think Finnegan getting up to speed will be really important.  Especially if we face Zona.  John Brown is danger zone.  Finnegan is fast though (both ran an identical 40 time although CF has probably lost a few ticks to age) and he's not a bad player.  If he can cannonball into the pool over these next four weeks it'll pay dividends.  In my opinion, of course.

The biggest key playing the cardinals will be limiting yac which with the exception of the saints game we have been very good at this season..

if if we make Palmer throw down the field to beat us we will pick him..

The Vikings damn near beat the Cards with their 3 best defensive players out and a mediocre offense.

The difference with us is that we CAN get into a shootout with Arizona and win.

Minnesota should have won the game last night if it weren't for a terrible case of the butterfingers. They moved the ball against the Card's D that made me very surprised- And I don't think the Vikes offense is really that great in the first place. AP didn't have a big day at all- probably due to extra attention that the Cards gave him- but if I told you that AP would have a very pedestrian day- you woulda thought they woulda been blown away by the Cards.. not so.

Cards aren't as great as people are hyping them, but they are easily one of 2-3 teams we need to be on our A game to win.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
