1st: Carl Nassib- DE Penn St

I'm not big on Nassib. One year wonder who's not all that nasty. He's solid, but personally I wouldn't take him before the 3rd.

Ogbah is a beast. Violent hands, high motor, got better every year. I seriously don't think he makes it out of the Top 10. He's reminds me of Ziggy Ansah.

Ogbah is going to end up going top 20.  Not a chance we get him unless we really move up.

I love Nassib.  Kid is pretty nasty from what I've seen.

Is a one year wonder but that's mainly due to weight issues.  Came in as a 210 pound walk on.  Coaches have been quoted as saying he's the hardest working kid they've ever coached.  Just starting to tap into his potential.

For me, I see us having 3 tiers of needs:

Tier 1: LT, SS

Tier 2: DE

Tier 3: WR, CB, RB

Throw in a rotational DT and maybe a value TE, and we're looking good.  This team is going BPA regardless, just a matter of when and where.

I disagree. Our line has been fantastic and I don't want to shake anything up about it at all. SS is a need but Harper has been solid so I don't think it's that much of a priority. I'd say CB is our biggest need going forward then DE then SS and maybe RB if we don't keep Stew but I think we will. I think WR will be very solid with KB back and Funchess continuing to develop, then add in Philly, Ginn and Cotch who can finally be the #3/#4s that they should be instead of being forced into being the #1 option. Agree it's gonna be BPA and with DG drafting we're gonna end up with more than 22 capable starters on this team.

Give me Derrick Henry all day long. You want to preserve our franchise QB? Get a RB who's 6'3 - 6'4'' to reach across the goal line instead of giving it to our 130 million dollar QB. He's worth it for the goal line ability alone. Find some corners and pass rushers later in the draft. Take the physical freak from Bama and make our backfield even stronger. You can do whatever you want with the 31st pick...

Why is LT a need? Or SS for that matter? Just because Harper is old? Move Coleman to SS and plug in Tre Boston and problem is solved. Oher has been solid for us. He's a future of the franchise type player for us over the next 3-4 years. I can see DE as a need if CJ isn't back next year. But Gettlemen's ability to find pass rushers on practice squads or later in the draft has been pretty impeccable. I could see corner as a need.

DT could be the biggest need depending on our ability to resign both Star and KK. Because KK is going to command all-pro money. Star will have to take less. Is he willing to do that? Who knows...

This is a best player available type of draft. IMO Derrick Henry could be there and as I said in the Mock draft post we need to figure out a way to limit Cam's unnecessary hits. One way of doing that is to put a great goal line runner in the backfield. Henry is 6'3'' - 6'4'' 240lbs. So…you want a Cam equivalent making goal line runs? Draft Henry. I get that people like Artis-Payne but he was a 5th-6th round pick and doesn't have near the physical ability Henry has.

Find a CB,  DT, WR later in the draft.

Not a "need" , but it would be nice to get a young speed demon deep threat aggressive wide receiver . Funchess and Kelvin aren't that type of receiver and Ted Ginn isn't getting any younger at 30 years old .

I'm not sure if running back position is a need either. If Stewart can be healthy for most of the time he could continue to be starting calibur for 3-4 years. It's also heavily dependent on whether Fozzy or Cameron Artis Payne demonstrate enough ability too as now they may actually be getting some decent playing time with Stewart being out. Not sure if it would be worth it to draft another late round running back but if a high quality RB somehow drops to the panthers draft position in the first round or 2 then why not.

Different strokes for different folks.  :)

LT might not be an immediate need, but this team is on the verge of building a dynasty type of team with the depth, talent and age of our roster. I'm more concerned with what we do with Oher after 2016. I just feel like players like Shaq, KB, and Trai are going to need extensions, and a player like Oher is such a question mark heading into this offseason.  He's played like a beast this year, and I hope it continues for us. I just feel like DG is the kind of GM that plans 2-4 years down the line with his offseason moves.

Harper is okay at SS, but imagine if we bring in a bonafide stud at SS to pair with Coleman.  I prefer Harper in a rotational/mentoring/chemistry role.  Especially at 33, I just question how long he can continue to be a 'starter' in a league dominated by speed and hybrid offensive schemes. I just see a player like Whitner, Chancellor or the like and would love to bring in a youngster on a rookie deal.

I agree witcha though about the incredible talent we will have after yet another Gettleman draft. It's a thing of beauty to watch and being a huge draftnik, I love that our GM's roots is embedded in scouting.
