Coach of the Year for Rivera Again?

On October 1, 2012,  Arians was named the interim head coach of the Colts following coach Chuck Pagano's leukemia diagnosis.Arians led the Colts to a 9–3 record in 2012

Arians was named the 2012 Coach of the Year  , making him the first interim head coach to win the award , Then he won it in 2014  with 11-5 record with the  Arizona Cardinals  .

So if he did win it this year that would be  3 times in the last 4 years ,  If so hell they should just rename it the Coach Arians Award /sigh...  But yea when Ron gets 16 wins i would say its all his and it would be well deserved ..

The last Coach to win it back to back was Joe Gibbs 1982/1983 I think ,...

After losing Benjamin and going into the season with our WRs and Michael Oher at LT? If we go 16-0 and Rivera doesn't get it I think that it will be discussed for years as one of those "how did that happen" type of things.

Indeed , And seeing they have only been 2 other Coaches to go undefeated 1972 Don Shula 14/0 and  2007 Bill belichick 16/0 And they both won Coach of the year for going undefeated, I do not  see how Ron would not win it if he goes undefeated as well ,

I think that we could lose our last 2 games and Ron will still win it, running away. We have been the best team in the NFL all season. I think the only question is whether Ron wins it unanimously or not.

This is kinda off topic, but considering Cam has pretty much locked up the MVP award, who is gonna get the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award? Is that Cam too? I can't think of another offensive player doing it at a higher level than Cam this season...Palmer maybe? Russell Wilson? Idk...I think that's Cam too. Hell, the Panthers have a very legit shot of sweeping all the postseason awards. That would be the icing on a hopefully historic season.

I hate to say this and I feel the bant stick close to my neck but if you are truly objective..,Belichek deserves some looks with the amount of injuries the Pats have had this year.

With that said (and three showers later) is there any doubt that RR is the runaway favorite to win? I think he is without a doubt.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
