No Stewart at practice today.... Wegher this week?

As predicted, we will probably see Brandon Wegher activated this Sunday against the Buccaneers.

According to our buddy Bill Voth, Stewart has no helmet today. Stewart will likely miss another game. If so, this means both of the Panthers starting running backs will be out. Fozzy Whitaker has already been ruled out ruled out.

The Cameron Artis-Payne/Brandon Wegher duo could get their debut on Sunday. I, for one, am excited. Wegher showed so much promise in the preseason with his touchdown runs and receptions.

To add to the drama, Sunday is looking like a ground and pound type of game. Bank of America field is getting a huge dose of wet weather this week. The ground will likely still be muddy come Sunday. This may, or may not, be good news for the Panthers.

The Carolina Panthers currently have the #2 ranked rushing offense in the league. But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the #4 ranked rushing offense. They are no slouches.

The best news for the Panthers is that Jameis Winston does not fit the QB mold that has given the Panthers fits as of late. Winston has not yet perfected those quick strikes over the middle that has been the Panthers achilles heal. The Panthers should be able to win this game fairly easily.

Also it could be that they don't want JS to get hurt in the lousy conditions

I think that s the biggest issue. He was cleared to play already but there is no reason to risk putting him out there. I wonder what the field condition will be, I have heard that BOA drains well and shouldnt be a problem unless it rains Sunday.

This doesn't bode well for our chances of winning Sunday, though. Wegher may have potential but he's no Stewart at this point. Nowhere even close.

Look for Tampa to put more men in the box now, knowing Cam doesn't have a major weapon at RB. Part of what's made life more difficult for the OL is the defense's knowledge that we don't have a huge threat at RB right now. I like CAP and he's broken some big runs, but he's no Stewart, either. And opposing teams know that.

I just want the fuging top seed for one. Our team is 20 years old and it's never finished with the No. 1 seed.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
