Taking into account everything, Cam just had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history

Cam's number don't even begin to due him justice, the amount of yards and TD's dropped by our receivers this season was mind boggling. Our running game was decent at best, the O-line was good but they masked its problems with doing a lot of max protection. Coming into 2015 taking into account the 2014 season our receivers had the least amount of yards, reception and TD in the entire NFL. And yet with all that Cam almost led the league in passing TD, the guy is special.

How does some of the media explain criticizing the Panthers for overpaying a running athlete who may never learn to play the position to voting him for MVP the very next season.

That Crow goes down a little hard.

Its so bad that some guys try to justify how Carson Palmer is better.

cam accounted for 45 total touchdowns this year, pushing dan marino's 1986 campaign out of the 7th all-time slot. give ted ginn two of those dropped touchdowns back and cam sits at 5th place all time on that list

not that historic, but... pretty damn historic.

He may not break Peyton's 55 passing TDs record but I would bet he sets the all time total TD record in his career with 60 or more total in the near future. GOAT Cam for MVP.

if he plays for another ten years he'll reset every record in the book except for maybe that one. 55 is insane.

I definitely see him playing into his 40s. Of course nothing is set but I just feel we'll have him wining championships for well over another decade.

40?  IDK.  I honestly don't know if his body will hold up that long considering his style of play.  I of course hope I'm wrong but you have to be realistic.  The best example of a starting QB taking the punishment like that into his 40's is Brett Farve and he didn't run like Newton.  We and Cam can only wish to he can last that long.

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
