Do you have faith in McClain?

Recommended Posts

The key to our playoff success I believe is on the backs of Luke, TD, Cam, and Stew.

I think the Dline and secondary are going to struggle against playoff teams.

A few big plays from our LBs should be enough, provided Cam puts up points and Stew holds the leads down.

Pats and Falcon fans have... not the most encouraging opinions about him. Do you have faith in him to hold down Lockett and Brown? Those damn birds are gonna test him often.

Peanut wasn't actually good.  He was more name than anything when he went down.  Now Peanut would know the assignments, so you didn't have worry about busted plays but he couldn't run with guys.

if you play good team defense, we can win with him.  If we don't pressure postseason QBs.....any and all DBs will be beat

I would add the O-line to that list with Cam and the rest. If the O-line plays to their potential then we have a great chance on the other hand if they play like they did in Atlanta then we won't be winning anything.

I'd love to see CJ or Jared have a great performance. I can't remember the last time they had a great game.

Take the DE unit and read them the riot act (the two vets in particular). We need whatever they have left in the tank for the home stretch. If they are ever going to make an impact and provide the pass rush we need, nows the time....maybe their last chance.

With a pass rush, he will suffice. Tillman was beat up, and his body was failing him. Playing on a bad knee (that was ready to be a full ACL tear), he would have been five yards behind any speedy reciever. Love his grit, but that's just reality.

Hindsight being 20 20, better now then during a playoff game. Least they have two weeks to get him ready.

McClain has height issues. He's also a little lost in our zone concepts at times. But yes, I do have confidence in him. He's still a good athlete and we can utilize him vs. the offenses we will be facing. Unless we play a team like the Steelers in the Super Bowl he shouldn't be horribly outmatched. We can put J No on a lengthy speed guy. No one really has two of those in the NFC. I'm more concerned about Mclain and Finnegan in the run game or screen game. Even tight end screens. They don't have the physical presence of Bene or Charles.

I think we will be ok with Mclain on the outside. I'm more worried about Finnegan, Coleman, and Harper getting worked up the middle.

He has a solid two weeks to get coached up. Seattle's receivers and Minnesota's both don't really concern me all that much so I think we'll be okay. I just think the key component is to get ealy and addison on the field as much as possible. If we must have Johnson and Allen on the field to stop the run, then blitz with tre boston and TD situationally because they both have looked great at blitzing this year. And of course, the double a gap blitz with td and kuechly. However, I would love to see some blitz packages where shaq was hunting wilson.

I guess I don't think it matters if we do or not

we don't have a choice

it matters if his flaws or liabilities can be covered sufficiently by schemes without totally damaging or compromising the defense schemes

the best way is for the four man line to put the QB on the ground, off his mark, and block the passing lanes

we all know this
