man up

in Russia they layer up...

the further pussification of America continues.....

In Russia we work 18 hour shift at steel mill, then we ride bear shirtless in 25 meter of snow at -15 celcius, drinking 3 casks of wodka so we stay under legal bear riding limit. Then we sit at outside bar and drink 5 more casks of wodka shirtless reading wise words of chessmaster Putin then ride bear back to do another 18 hour shift.

I grew up in northern Michigan. We would play football in the snow, and freezing weather. You start off all bundled up, in 15 minutes or so, you are down to your sweatshirt and tennis shoes, working up a sweat.

But...we didn't have to stand on the sidelines. We were playing.

I think the cold has gone to their heads if the newspaper in Seattle is printing this. Seattle, as a team, may not care as much as their fans, but I'm sure some of them are freaking a little.

As to who wins this game - I could care less. Bring on Seattle. Seriously, they'll probably lose, but I don't think the Panthers are concerned either way.

I do remember when Kevin Greene and co. back in our second season decided to go for the "i ain't a punk" route and decided not to wear sleeves in the NFC Championship Game in Green Bay. Bad mistake in my eyes. They were wiped out by Green Bay; who were used to the cold. I would recommend covering up and keeping as warm as possible. To pretend it won't bother you when it clearly will is stupidity. Yeah - I called Kevin Greene stupid, and he was for that one moment in history. Oh, and for grabbing and screaming at our coaches in Dom Caper's final year.

Working out in the cold is the worst. It's so dry and hard to breath, it hurts. I can not imagine how terrible it must feel to play a football game in that weather. They are going to be earning their paychecks tomorrow, that's for sure.

Coldest weather I've played a sporting event in was around 10 F.

to say we were miserable would be an understatement. I didn't even want to play at that point. I realize these are professional athletes but this is going to be an absolutely brutal game. Cannot imagine tackling people and helmets and pads smacking bare skin in that cold. Good god.

It won't be bare skin for Bridgewater.  That dude wears more than enough gear.

I was speaking more to the Seahawks players who have said they are "manning up" or whatever.

One of my buddies at work was telling me he saw on a sports show the Vikings have been training out in the cold all week.
