Pulling for the Bengals until......

I'm still iffy about that game.

Burfict should have been called,  I'm not going to argue intent,  I did enough of that last night.   But regardless of the intent,  a blow like that to the head will get flagged every time.

The Gio hit is what got me. How was that not a flag?  Gio was a receiver,  almost every receiver that has his head nearly taken off on a helmet to helmet hit,  is gonna draw a flag.    To me,  this wouldn't have been too bad if just  a quarter earlier,  the refs did not jump the gun and toss a flag out against the Bengals,  because a Bengals player hit a Steelers receiver shoulder to shoulder,  and the shoulder pad inadvertently slid up to graze the helmet of the Steelers player.           The flag helped the Steelers score.

I also still do not know what a catch is.    The Steelers' TD catch was athletic as hell,  but I've seen some refs rule would-be TDs like that as incomplete,  because the receiver didn't control the ball as he was moving out of bounds.   Basically,  if the refs saw the ball bobbing around  as the receiver went OOB,  it didn't matter if the receiver followed up and finally secured it,  it would still be ruled incomplete.

definitely a penalty and burfict is definitely the biggest piece of poo in the game and deserves a lifetime ban.  bengals still got shafted though, if only the bryant "td" catch itself.  bernard was also speared helmet to helmet by shazier and that shoulda been called.  that wasn't incidental helmet to helmet contact.  that was spearing on a defenseless receiver (i believe he was a receiver at that point, my memory could be wrong though).  either way it was spearing.

That's a damn clean hit. Shazier is 6'. Gio is probably 5'4" in reality. Shazier did not purposely go after his head. He even went with his head lowered toward the chest. Can't help that Gio is short.

he speared.  he launched with his helmet, can't do that.  height has nothing to do with it.  he should have been tackling with his shoulder and arms, not helmet.

This all goes back to Marvin Lewis imo. When we played them after the ankle twisting incidents he said in his presser he didn't see a problem with what vontaze did.  Later in the week of course he got fined. (Vontaze).  When a coach condones or turns a blink eye this this type of play, it is he that should be held accountable to some degree.

My dad and I were talking about that.  He either condones it or has no control whatsoever.  That was his last game as the head coach imo.

I call it poetic justice, Marvin Lewis response after Burfict tried to purposely injure our players outside the lines of football and making a play, told me everything about that team.

Burflict went on a to display why he is probably one of the dirtiest players in the league and possibly in the history of the game.

The lack of discipline Between him and Adam Jones (supposedly team leaders) is why they lost that game.

I am so happy that our leaders on our team have the discipline under control.   Yeah we have an occasional stupid play but under no circumstances do we ever get that out of control.

Thank Dave (and Marty) for picking players that don't have the THUG mentality and cost us a game like they just did.

These penalties will probably seal the deal for Coach Marvin Lewis. Can't control his players, can't win the big playoff games. Can't control thugs like Burfect and Pacman.

Lowering his head is the problem chuck.

I am not sure any coach can control players like Burfict.  The key is to not have players like that on your team.

I seriously doubt he's going anywhere. They would have probably won that game with the way Andy Dalton has played this year if he was healthy. Yea he hasn't won in the playoffs, but there's something to be said about getting there every single year. You fire him and hire some douche that can't even get you there and things can go south quick. So if you're going to fire a guy making the playoffs every year, you better damn sure nail that hire.

We'll see.  Either one of us could be right.
