Not one person in the stadium or anywhere else but the Huddle is complaining about this win

what else was he going to say, according to you, I am sure he loved shula getting the plays in late...too.

That's just too funny. You can use half the quote to make a point. But I use the other half, and you dismiss that. Cool

Yupperz. Shula is the ONLY OC in the league to ever not get a play in on time. We had 1, yup 1 play that got in late. But hey, don't let that stop your narrative.

In the age of internet commenting we've somehow lost our ability to nuance.

We can still be both happy about winning and disappointed with how the second half went. Humans are capable of expressing and feeling multiple emotions simultaneously.

I guarantee you 99% of Panthers fans would take a 31-24 win over Seattle today had you told them that before the game. Give it a few days and that's all people will remember, the final score. But it certainly isn't out of he ordinary for fans, coaches and players to be disappointed with the second near half collapse.

guess you did not watch the other games Cam had to burn Time Outs. And no one gets that upset over one call coming in late...

As far as the quote...how many players don't add something like that in (rather they believe it or not)? He causes a distraction otherwise...at least act like you know these things. We went through this same type of back and forth when Fox was here and what players said or didn't say in public. And, after those players left, felt they could talk about how they really felt.

Furthermore, WE AREN'T DONE YET- we've got two more games to win- if you're satisfied with just winning this game that's cool. But if you want to win the Superbowl, you should evaluate our performance both it's strengths and weakness to improve ourselves before the next game.

Exactly

Not so sure why some folks find that hard to comprehend. No matter what you do, there should always be a motivation to improve and ...yes, that means we have to talk about the weaknesses...even in a win.

Yeah that's the problem with a lot of Huddlers. They literally think that their opinions and breakdowns matter like they really are coaches. Let the coaches worry about that, breathe and enjoy this for 24 hours on the Huddle at least. Even the team gets 24 hours to celebrate (or at least they did in the regular season). You guys are not coaches.

There's so many fans here that are well on their way to becoming that cranky old man that watches the game and goes "These bums are gonna blow it, I just know it."

If not even 12 hours after one of the biggest wins in our franchises history, you're sitting here, complaining about how the win wasn't winningish enough for you, then congratulations, you're well on your way to being that old man.

LOL I never claimed to be a coach or a player, but we went scoreless in the second half and gave up 24 points. I can be both ecstatic we are going to the NFCC AND disappointed with that performance

dude you're a regular on a football message board if you aren't used to people posting about ways to improve the team or how they would have done things differently you probably shouldn't come here anymore

It really wasnt a collapse at all.  As Cam said in his after game conference, they took a number of plays out of the playbook (like all passing plays and trick plays) to avoid committing turnovers and run the clock both things that Seattle didnt do in the first half and contributed to their huge deficit. It was a deliberate plan to become more conservative in order to win the game believing your defense wont give up 31 points in 30 minutes after shutting them out in the first 30.  You can likely blame Shula for both halfs both good and bad given that Rivera said he wasnt happy with us going so conservative in the second half.  The offense was trying to move the sticks but only throwing on third down. The Seahawks were desperate and swarming.  The strategy worked but it was nerve racking to be there and watch Seattle creep closer. I lost my voice yelling.  I wanted us to be more aggressive and keep the petal to the metal all day.  But I understand what they were doing even if I didnt like it.

This is a reasonable response and I agree

Two years ago the OP was the most negative poster on this message board, ironic post is ironic, right?

Anyway, there is valid criticism for the last 2 minutes of the first half and onward.  I knew as soon as we laid down at the end of the half (with 2 minutes left and a timeout or two) what was coming.  Why?  We've seen it all year.  Heck, we've seen it for YEARS, even before Rivera.  I don't know why we do this, but we can't hold leads when it matters.  Did I expect to shut out the Seahawks?  Never.   But to give up 14 so fast, and keep them in the game till the end, there HAS to be worry.  I agree with others, you do this to the Patriots (when we make the Super Bowl) or even Arizona, they will make us pay.  Fitz has done this to us before.

Ron shouldn't have took his foot off the pedal.   I feel we were outcoached from last 2 minutes in the first half to the end.   One of the coaches trusted his team, and one didn't.   The Hawks almost had one of the biggest comebacks ever because Carroll trusted his team and Rivera, maybe not "didn't trust", but laid down.     We were seriously one offside kick from losing that game, because you know if they got it back, they were marching on us like they did that whole second half.    Knowing how historically bad we are at special teams, I personally don't like our games coming down to that.

Face it, this defense has holes.  The secondary, minus Norman, is questionable.  Seattle showed that even more.  This is why you let our #1 ranked offense go crazy and NEVER let up.  NEVER.  You keep throwing points up, because our defense has shown it can give up points and fast.  Yes, we have playmakers.  We have a great turnover ratio.    But when you aren't getting those amazing plays, we're getting carved up.

Let the offense do its thing.  The WHOLE game.

True fans observe and criticize because we know this team can be better. We see the faults more just like a proud owner of a classic car. You may see a perfect coat of paint and polished chrome. We see that ding we know is there by the left quarter panel, the missing part that we can't find anywhere to make the car even more original.

Make no mistake we are the most diehard fans, we just want our love to be the perfect example that we know they can be.

This. Also we have a habit of letting teams get back into games which really needs to stop
