Cardinals depending on "undersized" safety/linebacker Bucannon

The 6'1 211 lb Bucannon will be tasked with stopping Cam and Greg:

The keystone in accomplishing those two goals is "Moneybacker" Deone Bucannon. The converted safety moved to linebacker will be vital in coverage versus the 6-foot-5 pass-catching Olsen. He'll also be tasked with helping slow the Panthers dominant run gam, which includes tacking Newton on inside runs.

Being undersized in the middle of the defense could be a hindrance for Bucannon. Pro Football Focus rated him the Cardinals worst rush defender this season (-5.7 grade). His teammates have no concerns.

Whether he is covering Olsen or spying Newton, there is no question you will see Bucannon all over the field Sunday. The Cards are counting on his impact swinging the outcome in their favor.

Heard an interview w him on NFL Radio. Seems like a good dude. Our team motto is a quote from an undersized LB who everyone underestimated to their detriment. I doubt the Panthers have made that mistake with Bucannon, but there are definitely mismatches to capitalize on. I like our chances obviously.

I've always felt that if we played the Cards we should have a heavy dose of running the ball right down this guy's throat.

Panthers had 144 rushing yds. against the Hawks'  #1 rush defense, while the Cards gave up 135 yds. on the ground to GB.

I think we go up the middle on offense with Stu and up the middle on D with KK and Star. We pound the Cards.

If they can somehow get us into 3 & long with our run game and this guy at LBer, then we could just go up top the Olsen over the middle jump ball style to pick up the first down.  We should be able to get more stops of then they can of us, and that will result in our win.  Man I'm pumped!

    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
    • 1.) LaMelo 2.) Kon 3.} Miller 4.. Giannis 5.) Moose   1.) Coby 2.) ? 3.) Sion 4.) Miles Bridges 5.) Kalk That squad would win multiple chips.
