What Broncos Fans Are Saying

If the Broncos normal run defense (the one that was gashed by KC and Minny for 397 yards in 3 games) shows up then the SB will be a bloodbath of epic proportions.

The Panther's have a much better and vastly more diversified rushing attack then anything that Denver has seen all year.

It controls the defensive line with out a snap being taken, the front 7 have to pause and identify the runner, the QB, and the option or if it's a pass play. That pause in the defenders allows the Panthers rushing attack to do three things. Eat clock, wear down the defense, and set up the play action passing game.

Blitz or overload and you've already lost, get too aggressive in pass rush and not stay disciplined in gap control and you've already lost.

Denvers defense will have to do what it hasnt all season (limit a good rushing team) and get constant pressure on Cam without sending extra defenders to win this game.

That's not even mentioning that Denver's offense plays into the Panthers defensive approach. Just making it that much harder on Denver's defense.

This is the worst possible NFC matchup for Denver's defense and I see no visible evidence based on Denver's past games this season to expect them to suddenly be able to stop a high grade power run team that's in the top ten in rushing.

Edit: just to add a note Carolina ran for 900+ yards and a 151 rushing yards per game average against 3-4 teams in 2015 season.

The Broncos defense is not built to stop our offense. We are a bad matchup for them. The Broncos defense is built to stop pass happy AFC teams. We're a brutish NFC team with a monster rushing QB and beastly RB. The Broncos want to muddle at the line and drop into coverage and let their quick speedy DEs get to the QB. That will NOT work on the Panthers. We're going to run the ball, and they can't stop that so they have to load the box. That means single coverage on our WRs like the AZ game. You saw what our WRs did to AZ's good DBs. They were eaten alive.

Oh oh, I can answer this, I've heard it so many times from the Bronies.

'it doesn't matter because you don't have any receivers besides Olsen'

Just from looking at the footage on NFLN it appears that the fans there are 60% 49ers, 30% Broncos, 10% plain clothed. I am worried that most of the stadium will be filled with Bronco fans.

Meh. We've made it a little bit of a habit to send people home sad at away games this year.

There is no "home team" in the Super Bowl.  Sadly, the Super Bowl has become such a huge event that the vast majority of tickets are bought up by corporate interests and the wealthy.  There aren't many actual fans at the Super Bowl.  They're there for the event, not so much the two teams on the field.

I will say that living out here in CO, shortly after the teams were decided, most Broncos fans didn't think they had a chance.  They were just hoping to avoid another Super Bowl embarrassment.  That tide has turned.  They're hyped now.  They're gonna be crushed.

Some of the donkey fans are saying its going to be like A "home" game and that their fans will out number ours by a large amount.... LMAO!!!!

you should be prepared for that.  It will be a heavily slanted Denver crowd.

Denver's fanbase is closer and Denver is going to get a huge chunk of the "corporate" crowd which dominates Super Bowl attendance.

I am not so sure. A good number every year pull for the "cool team". Right now that is the Panthers hands down.

    • Great point.    I would lke to add that there is another QB on the roster who was terrible over the middle--Kenny Pickett.
    • I don't think this is the year for Carolina, unfortunately.  I think they will have to make a decision on the QB position-all we know is that Bryce has year 5, but a long term deal has not been signed--yet--and they would be smart to take a "wait and see" approach.  I have not kept up, and I see a path to upside for Bryce, but I do not think we have aggressively pursued a QB when our QB was mediocre to worse than mediocre.  yes, his numbers are improving--but he has adapted by eliminating what he does poorly and not improving on what he does poorly.  Just my take and I have no data to support this view.   Basically, we go as Bryce goes, so the approach is not to bring in a QB to have him compete until we find one, but it is to make Bryce as good as he can be--is that good enough? Season ticket holders buy the hope of winning rings, not winning 8 games. Last year, Bryce had a resurgence.  Take away TMac and Rico Dowdle.  How good was he?  I still have hope.  Not a hater of plan A, but a hater because we have no plan B.
    • Yeah man, I've been here for a very very long time. Couldn't even begin to tell you what year. Maybe 2004 or 5? I've never really been super active, just enjoy reading everyone's opinions and discussions. I'll chime in from time to time. I have had a few different accounts over the years. It's always been a fun place for me to check in on my favorite team. Hopefully we can keep the place running for a long while still. I also would like to recommend bringing back the Lovely Ladies page!
