The best Cam Newton article this side of Nolan Nawrocki

(you're gonna want this @sallyjenx )

This writer for the Washington Post does not like Cam Newton. I'd call this a hit-piece, but that wouldn't be doing hit-pieces justice. I wonder if she is just playing devils advocate with all the praise being thrown Cam's way. Of course, this is just one person typing into a keyboard and holds zero weight, but it's still semi-disgustingly disingenuous beginning with the first few paragraphs.

Quote

It would be a little easier to admire Cam Newton if he wasn’t so relentlessly admiring of his admirable self. The Carolina Panthersquarterback has been introduced fully to the global audience on the Super Bowl stage this week, and this is the impression he has left: He is brilliant and beautiful, and anyone who doesn’t like his bold dancing is a joyless prude, and he may even be the new super-species he claims to be. He also appears to own a new size of ego.

He strolls around with a languid yet self-studied air, uttering pronouncements such as, “Every time I put on an attire, every single morning of my life, it’s a must-win attire.”

Then he shuffles away from the podium in socks and slippers, as if it’s too much trouble to dress properly for something as paltry as a press conference.

I know it's dumb to link to dumb articles, but this is the Washington Post and a supposedly legit sports writer, and the entire piece is worth a read.

The lady on bleacher report mid day radio has pretty much the same opinion plus she thinks you can put any quarterback on our team and they will have as much success.  Yes she is a complete fool. She's hot though so they give her a microphone for several hours a day to talk sports.

    • LaMelo to Brooklyn for Nic Claxton, Drake Powell, and a pick.  Who says no?
    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
