Offensive Tackles cost us the game.

Wrong Daryl Wiliams, The key is finding the guy for your SYSTEM.

We haven't seen anything out of Williams. He's fine in those packages we use him in but that doesn't mean he'll be a starting caliber tackle. I like him and hope he can be our guy but it's not guaranteed.

The RBs/Tolbert also got to pass protect better. I also question Olsen's pass blocking.

Stewart is the best pass protection back and when he went down everything went with it. I have seen so many plays where Olsen or Tolbert  whiffs on their blocks, they should have used them in passing situation and bring in dickson for blocking.

I agree partially. Yes, if we had better OT play we may have overcome the Denver defense and won the game. BUT I also think we could have won with the guys we have, with a better offensive gameplan. Multiple Denver defensive players have said that we didn't change ANYTHING (even laughed about it) from what they prepared for.

I'm definitely open to improving OT though.

A lot of things cost us, Tackles were just one thing.  Stew getting banged up early hurt us, then Fozzy got hurt meaning that Tolbert was our healthiest runner (and he was god awful with his turnovers), Norwell injury was HUUUUUGE as after that all the sudden pressure started getting to cam from right up the gut, as stated, receivers were just dropping passes like crazy, oh and 4 turnovers hurt us terribly, and well of course the refs did have a major effect on the game because they cant find their asshole from a hole in the ground.  Pretty much on offense, we failed in every single aspect of the game, this game isn't on our defense or special teams, just soully on that offensive unit that just dug a gigantic hole.

I want a balanced OT that is a great run blocker and good pass blocker...from a major college program. Of course I want an OT that is great at both, but something has to give since we are picking at 30. Based on our offensive strengths, I want elite run blocking. I also think it is vital that our big men come from major college programs. I think you can find diamonds in the rough at the skill positions, but big men must be vetted against major line talent. I think Decker fits that mold...Conklin if he's there.

There are prospect that fits Panthers system that could be picked towards end of 1st round or early 2nd. It happend with KK in 2nd round and it will happend with a OT. We still have Oher, so the prospect can be eased in.

Seriously gentlemen, there aren't many right tackles in the NFL that were gonna block Von Miller for 4+ seconds in the Super Bowl. As an OC/HC, you have to know who your biggest threats are and do your damnest to neutralize said threats. Don't leave a MFing undrafted free agent by himself on the most athletic pass rusher in the NFL!!!!

Sorry,  but blaming the loss on the OTs or really any one facet of the game is a bit short sighted.  It was 100% a team loss,  though the defense did better than any other part of the game.

The truth of the matter is that this OL is the best we've had in years and that includes the OTs. They were good enough to get us to  17 wins this year and the superbowl. Does the mean they couldn't be improved? Nope, but they were still good and not the liability the OP makes them out to be. Remmers will probably be replaced by big Daryl (whom I think is going to be an absolute stud) and Oher is reliable enough to get us back to the superbowl again, but if Gettleman does happen to find us a VET LT (which, if we're serious about getting back there this year is the only direction we should go if any change is to be made to LT) then cool.

if we are looking at the fix to get us back to the superbowl this year being an LT we pick up in the draft, we're going to be disappointed.  you won't find that guy outside of the first 5, maybe even 10 picks and even then finding one that is ready to start at a high level right out of the gate is rare.

What we have is what we need....continuity on the OL. Changing out more than one part of that OL would set us back probably half a season unless we were able to pick up a couple absolute studs who perfectly fit the blocking scheme and we're in place by the earliest OTAs.

It's true that one might fall through the cracks and Gettleman could pick him up, but I wouldn't count on it.

The biggest issues to address is DE and the secondary. I think Early is ready to the over, but there are too many long term question marks in the rest of the group and in the secondary we have two old vets and one high priced FA that might hit the road. Aside from that,  though, with Benjamin comin back I think we aabsolutely have all the pieces in place for us to go back and actually win it all next year.

I've said before (as if that matters) that the reaso not we didn't come home with a Lombardi wasn't the personnel,  it was that the moment was too big for us and we made uncharacteristic mistakes that I think were rooted in nerves. All we needed to do was do one more tim ssomething that the Broncos offense couldn't do at all, and that was get into the end zone. and if it wasn't for that fumble cam lost that resulted in Denver' s only score we would have won that game ( not to put the blame of the loss on cam).

Point is that this team, as is, was good enough to win it all this year. They were good enough to have a perfect record, but their two lone losses this year can come back to not the other team being better, but our team not having their heads where they needed to be. And this is a good thing because it's the issue that is easiest for this team to fix.

any changes in personnel (aside from maybe losing 24) is essentially gravy.

I'd say poor wr play cost us, even with cam being sacked like it's 2008 madden nano blitz, wr play cost us points. drop pass at the 5, and a wr letting the ball go through his hands for a redzone int. easily 14 points off the board or bare minimum 6.

The pass Ginn couldn't catch and was then intercepted was a freakin' rocket....as an NFL receiver he probably should have made the catch, but I would say 85-90% of the receivers in the NFL would have had a similar outcome on that pass.
