All theses scenarios are fine but bottom line is we need him , as we stand with him we are down 1 good corner if he leaves we go 2 down and i dont think another retread vet or two are going to make up for that.We have needed another starting CB since Gamble left and we are still needing that.

DG will make a more than fair offer to Josh that will make him wealthy enough for many lifetimes over.

However, if Josh is looking to make top dollar on the free market he is going to get tagged for next season.

At that point the team will find and groom his replacement.

DG all but said this in his press conference this morning.

Having been a fan like many of you since 1995-96, we have never ever ever had a CB as good as Norman.  I don't want to go back to the pre-Norman era of above average to good CBs like Gamble and Lucas.  I want JOSH NORMAN a shut down CB stud for the next 4 years minimum!  Most teams have a 5 year window to win the Super Bowl once things fall into place, i honestly believed next year was year 1 of that window (i thought we would be a playoff team this year, but not super bowl caliber) Josh better be here for this next 5 years..not the ghost of Terry Cousin and Richard Marshall!

My main issue is Norman is going Richard Marshall on us.........

This is a guy that stayed in the doghouse for 2 years. Once out couldn't beat all world beaters Melvin white, cason, and Florence.

Credit he's play super great for 1.5 years out 4. I always find it funny when a player plays his best in a contract year.

I've come to bill parcells line of thinking about paying CBs 12+ million, let someone else do that. Now if Josh doesn't want to go fight over a extra dollar and a sign a 4 yr 40ish million with a juciey signing bonus. Welcome back....

Honestly after hearing the Gett press conference today, my opinion is that Norman is as good as gone unless he gives one hell of a discount that he shouldn't give because this is his big contract chance.  Gettleman doesn't believe in shut down corners and thinks that they become shutdown once you have a good D-line.  I just don't think he values secondary like he does the Hog Mollies.  He is not going to throw 12 to 13 million at Norman for 1 year.  I wish Josh the best.  Go make that paycheck my man.  You earned it.

This at 28 and having the attention, the probowl, and season and even the 1 catch for 22 yards against him in a Superbowl against Peyton Manning is Joshs 1 chance to get as much money as he can.

Theres no part of me that would blame him.  Hes played on rookie money so far which is great relative to most of us, but not life changing or generational.  He has earned that.

With that said, work out a 3-4 year contract and if its not done before time, then he gets the tag. Period  For the Panthers he is just as important as Kuechly, Star, Short, Thomas Davis and the recently arriving Ealy(assuming that wasnt a one game fluke)

Keep those guys together. Bene may improve or not but hes a great young role player. Coleman is a starter and can stay but not irreplaceable.

Corners like Josh are hard to find. Denver got lucky because Tampa gave up on Talib too fast.

Let's be real here. Rivera fugged that one up. Norman should have been starting a long time ago. He was too conservative to let him play.

    • These are the three deep throw attempts that Will Levis made in week 12. His first one is a beauty; Levis and Westbrook-Ikhine gets the safety to bite on a deep dig only to go over the top for the score. His second throw is another beauty: a crosser to Calvin Ridley reminiscent of Bryce to XL (though Ridley has noticeably more separation on his route). His third and final deep shot was an incompletion from his own endzone on 3rd & 14 with pressure coming down on him (to me, this seems like a solid throw).   Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-02.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Levis took half of the deep shots that Young did. The differences are: Ridley had much better separation than XL, which is why his deep crosser turned into a 63yd play since he was able to scamper for another 15+ after the catch. Westbrook-Ikhine holds on to his TD pass. Bryce had to throw one away to preserve time for a field goal. Bryce had two more throws that were incomplete due to the WR Are we really holding the three WR errors and clock management decision against Bryce in order to say that Will was better throwing deep in week 12? That's not passing the eye test nor is it confirmed by the data.
    • If you go on the PUP list before the season starts, you are gone for the year. If you start the year on the PUP list then you can get off of it. Kind of semantics, but we are putting him on the PUP list now which is before week 1, that’s why people who come off of it aren’t really on the PUP list until week 1, hence you usually hear right before the season that they are “starting the year” on the PUP list. I think PUP list and IR may basically be the serve the same purpose now because you also sometimes hear that if a player is added to the IR before week 1 that they aren’t eligible to come off the IR list for the entire year. Now, everyone added to IR (post week 1) can come off after 4 (or more) games so the PUP list is meaningless since it’s 6 games and starts at week 1. Anyone added to PUP or IR in the preseason is gone for the year.
    • I saw Brooks maybe a few weeks ago, he was walking pretty normally. of course he wasnt running, jumping and cutting.
