Philly played the best of anybody on our offense that game

Pretty unbelievable if you ask me. He's probably our 8th best offensive player and he played better than all of them before going down, in my opinion. This is why we lost. Our entire offense aside from Philly played poorly. Denver's defense is great that is true, but our offense was much better this season than they played on Sunday. As Olsen said, we moved the ball well and then made critical errors at the worst possible times. Shula didn't help out much but I'm not going to blame him because player execution was just as big a factor. Philly played his heart out, got open at will and would have put up 100 yards and a TD (if not for the facemask) if Cam didn't overthrow him a few times and that was before missing most of the second half with a concussion. I honestly like the future of our WR group. They were collectively terrible against the Broncos but with KB, who's a bonafide star receiver and was primed for a dominant season before going down in TC, back and the continued development of Funchess and Philly and having Ginn not forced into a #1 role but in a role where we can utilize his skill set to the fullest, I think this group can be pretty damn good.

Philly and Ealy were probably the 2 brightest spots during the Super Bowl.  I feel really good about our WR corp and our team going into next year.  Philly played his heart out.

And to be honest, I don't think the game had anything to do with heart.  The Broncos had a better game plan, and more importantly, they executed a lot better. Simple and painful as that.

I'll never understand why the coaching staff didn't approach Von Miller with the same regard as JJ Watt.

I wrote about that in a post yesterday.  It's like they didn't trust the offensive line early in the season and wanted to make sure we had a gameplan against JJ Watt, but I guess along the way we started playing better and they got deluded into thinking Remmers could hold up against Miller.

This is exactly my feelings as well.  I think the coaching staff went into this game thinking Remmers would be fine against Miller.  I just wish they had some sort of a back up plan in place if that didn't work out ( obviously, it was a big time fail ).

The downfield catch that knocked him out was tremendous, but he did drop a crucial ball across the middle on 3rd down that would've given us a 1st down conversion and probably put us in scoring range if I remember correctly.

He should've caught that but I wouldn't call it a drop. Two Denver guys hit him and one got his arms in there. In the Super Bowl you gotta make those plays though and I was pissed about that (literally screaming at my TV to put him on a plane to Charlotte at halftime or something like that). Aside from that play he was dominating, getting open consistently and catching tough balls like the one he got hurt on.

It's almost as if Denver saw this and told Talib to take him out if he could

I'm not going to loop all over Denver in that but Talib is a disgrace to the league.  Him and Burfict are the 2 dirtiest players in the game.

    • All I heard was uber rides, weight trainers, and t shirts??? Maybe some meals too........ What a monster and he should be tossed in a rusty wood chipper!!!1!11!!!!!
    • This is from 5 months ago. It was one or the other. Trade for one or draft one. We apparently called the Jets about Wilson. We also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf. Drafting our own guy was the best course of action given the required investment. Regardless now is the time for Bryce Young to produce. We are fourth amongst all teams in cap spending on the OL. Back to back first round picks at WR and multiple young TE draft picks now. Very solid and respectable backfield. New pieces across the defense. The time is now.
    • That was just the worst time to have their worst game of the season. One key deal was the broncos guess the Panthers would NOT change any plays or flow to the game. Another key point overlook that bronco defense was truly one of the best in the NFL history. It was the best defense the Panthers faced that year, by far. They were not ready for it, but broncos were ready for the Panthers. Mix in that bad luck, poor refs showcase, and this is the golden boys last game........ Panthers needed to win by 20 and the broncos defense was not going to allow that.  Panthers were the favorites and I believe they also thought that it was going to easier than them destroying NFC playoff teams as they marched to the SB. I've heard darin Gantt say the play calls were to give remmers help, but for some reason the team never did it. During the year they never had that problem, so maybe never practiced giving help via TE/RB, or WR chip. Cam was superman that year, no need for any adjustments...... Until you meet a legendary defense with studs at all levels, Think about it, Peyton was throwing wingless dunks for the whole season, the defense had to carry his corpse to the SB. That's how good they were, not many defense are able to get to the playoffs and win a SB without decent QB play. If you recall the beginning of that defense took Tim Teblows and his non-throwing arse to the playoffs couple years before. That's insane the level of defense needed to overcome.
