Mike Wallace expected to be cut

He has a huge cap hit next season, so I doubt the Vikings can trade him. All the speculation is he's gonna be cut cut, so any chance we bring him in?

He's a younger better version of Ted Ginn, I think we could compliment Kelvin really well and let Funchess keep developing while playing the slots.

I wouldn't mind splurging on a top quality WR, but Gettleman is a loyal Wal-Mart customer. He'll be looking in the value bins at some truly oddball WRs who might be on their last legs. Some guys you've just never heard of even though they've been in the league for many years.

Now where you might be excited is in the upcoming draft. Gettleman will probably be looking for another big WR to put opposite KB,  with tweener WR/TE Funchess in the slot. The triples towers. Single cover that.

This could actually be a move I see us making. Even with the success we had passing this year it's pretty obvious that we need at least 1 more legit weapon, even with KB coming back. I think Wallace would be a very interesting choice. You know he can absolutely fly, and with the different types of guys we already have, a straight burner would really help things. This might be something we need to keep an eye on....of course that all depends on how much money he is looking for. I don't see us as a player at anything over 5 million a year for someone like him....gonna be a very interesting offseason. We have a lot of cap room, and DG doesn't seem like the kinda GM to just bank that kinda money and rest on his laurels.

If Ginn weren't under contract already for this season, I would say we can explore the option.

But for all the people here who flip their lids over Ginn dropping a pass, they would be livid at how Wallace tends to behave on the field. Remember how he was with the Dolphins? Also, he is only one year younger than Ginn, so that's pretty much not really a factor at all.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
