Kimberly Martin, Jets beat writer for Newsday, shares a letter about Cam Newton

One thing the internet should have taught us is that the human race, through it's defeat of natural selection, has declined greatly with our ability to say the stupidest things with little fear of consequences.  We can more easily see the heart of people, and it sucks.

People can hate on Cam for a number of reasons, and race is super easy and very popular online.  Who cares about social decency?  People aren't people, people are colors and judgements. Accepting the humanity of another person who is different from us is just too darn hard for most people because it's really easy to isolate ourselves.

Cam is Cam, most Panther fans love what he does, most everyone wishes he handled the exit a little more gracefully, but at the end of the day, he was mad, we were mad, and he doesn't hide his feelings.  That's pretty refreshing.

I hope this is not the case, but I too am getting the feeling this is a fabrication. I have searched and have not found any articles written by Kimberly Martin about Cam Newton. There is nothing on the web site she works for. and a google search of "Kimberly Martin Cam Newton" only gave responses related to this letter.

I hope this is not a case of someone using race to get retweets.

Well that sucks. Maybe somebody can find it. Because without the letter writers name, kinda makes me question the letter and if it's real.

Well, if one decides to write a hoax letter and in it you refer to a hoax column that you never actually wrote, well... that would be really dumb.

Can you imagine if Cam did something like this?

Where is the original article the letter writer is talking about? Not that it really matters, the writer is clearly a racist, but some context could be good, just to ridicule the racist some more.

If the person is stupid enough to write that let the coward own it! The person obviously doesn't know anything about the history of this country or his own race for that matter.

How come African students come here and most do very well in school? Behavior has a lot to do with the culture you were raised in.

Our country breeds idiots of all races in abundance unfortunately.

Yeah I dont get that.

ive heard that the panthers Twitter was really bad. And the panthers org in general had received some brutally racist poo this past season.

Wow.... i did not know this. They have definitely kept it under wraps, wonder what happens if they ever went public, i could understand them not doing so not to distract the team tho.

fyi that took 15 seconds to find.

Yeah I didn't say I looked for it...I knew somebody would. :)

That has nothing in it for the racist to send a shitty letter like that. Some people just suck. Still need the letter writers name tho.

Anyone who thinks racism is dead would be convinced otherwise after spending five minutes reading comments on the Panthers facebook page.

How about reading the comments on anything? Comments sections of a YouTube video about garbage disposal installation turn into bitter race talk.
