Perhaps most interesting thing from RR today: Panthers are going to give Bené Benwikere a shot to win outside spot opposite Josh Norman.

Panthers are going to let Bene Benwikere focus on being an outside corner and give him oppt to be No. 2 CB opposite Norman

Good news.  I really liked Bene on the outside.  Thought he played better there than nickel from what little my own eyes told me.

Question:  Do you generally want more height in an outside guy than a nickel?   Quite a few of the promising corners that potentially might fall to us in the draft are somewhat shorter (5'9 - 5'11).  Not a lot of big guys that we're likely to get picking at #30 / #31 I'm wondering if that could be a factor influencing this decision.

Typical outside corners tend to run in the 5-10 to 5-11 range.

I think teams would like more height (especially these days) but many of the bigger guys aren't very fluid or don't cover well.

That's why big guys who can cover are so valuable.

Typically, you want more height on the outside guys. Focus for slot guys is lateral agility and short area quickness which typically comes with a lower center of gravity on shorter guys. Verticality is not as important in the slot as it is outside where the WRs are bigger and throwing over the defender is used more.

I won't watch it...probably ever.

I was the same way about Super Bowl 38. I only watched it for the second time the week before Super Bowl 50. It was the excitement of being back in the big game that allowed me to watch it with out pain. I'm glad I did, it was a good game and the Panthers fought hard. I don't know if I'll ever be able to rewatch 50 though.

Same. I'll get the NFL yearbook for the year and watch it up until the super bowl just like I do with the 03 season.

Yeah, reminds me of Stanley Jean-Baptiste the Saints picked in the 2nd round, and was completely useless.

Played like poo the whole game yet were only one drive from taking the lead pretty much the whole time, so you never really felt like were out of it which made the final collapse at the end all the more painful.  The only way I will ever be able to rewatch it is after we win a SB, whether thats next year or ten years from now and maybe not even then.

I'm in the same boat. I STILL can't bring myself to watch it. I don't think I've had THAT much hype for something just to be utterly let down in every way.

Yep, I deleted that garbage off of my DVR.  No need to watch that.  Why would anyone besides the Broncos fans, coaches and players ever wanna see that display of .........................  ever again.

Y'all are doing better than I am. Usually by this point I am getting anxious for next season.. Now im dreading it. Honestly the thought of football makes me queezy in the same way a woman may have a lasting sickness towards a particular food item after getting pregnant.

The draft and stuff is still a bit enticing , and it's not that I don'ttthink the Panthers will have a great team... Its just the thought of having to emotionally get back up again makes me nauseous.
