Bears seeking trade for Martellus Bennett

Could be an upgrade over Dickson.  The last time we worked out a trade for a TE worked out pretty well.  Maybe we grab this guy for peanuts and get a nice compliment to Olsen.

They are trading him because he wants a huge raise which we would have to give him in addition to giving the Bears a draft pick. Really don't see that happening.

I'd much rather go after the 26 year old, and much cheaper, recently released Ladarius Green.  Athletic, solid pass blocker and would be a great compliment to Olsen.

Speculation is he'll be cut.

Olsen cost a lot less money at the time than Bennett likely will.

He's looking to cash in. This is probably not the best place to do that.

The thought of bringing him here is crazy considering we already have a #1 TE and that's what he wants to be.

Well, FWIW, he is a Bennett...  Might be more to it than money.

theoretically it'd be a great trade to make.  just erase the "Olsen"s from the last trade paperwork and write in Bennett.  But in reality I don't think his money fits in our current budget.

Martellus is a 3 down guy so it would be a huge upgrade over Dickson.  He's a better blocker and better tight end all around.  If they can swing it they should.  Not saying it's probable.
