Interesting. I'm wondering how they're going to improve the pass rush. Ealy at RE is an upgrade over Jared but I wonder is that the biggest move we're going to see.

This is great.  He may not be CJ of a few years back but he's more than capable and this helps to keep things in tact from a locker room standpoint.  Better than getting a mid-tier starter in the FA who would be new to the team and may not even work out.  Hope we draft a guy still.

CJ found out how much he was worth on the open market, likely decided the difference in what the Panthers offered as a paycut wasn't worth the move and possibly the Panthers realized how much DEs are valued on the open market. Seems that there was a lot of respect between the team and CJ throughout the process if he's willing to return. Good for our squad, good for CJ.

Is CJ a lock to start? Even at a cheaper price this doesn't help our pass rush.  Are we still looking for starting DE's or is this signing giving us time to develop a young gun?

This gives us he security of a vet that we needed. Now DG can go back to hitting DL homeruns in the draft and give them a year to develop
