what do diabetic players drink on the sidelines?  if they were chugging gatorade wouldn't their blood sugar be all over the place?

They can drink it, but in limited quantities. I imagine they know how much they can consume during practice or a game, and supplement with plain water, or just say screw the Gatorade and drink water only.

Coconut Water?

According to this  site that's a good option.

"A study from 2012 and a study from 2015 found that coconut water has anti-glycation properties, kidney protection, prevented hyperglycemia and oxidative stress. It is an excellent source potassium, chloride, magnesium, calcium, sodium, b-vitamins, enzymes and vitamin C."

They also say watch out for added ingredients.

If Cole was cut when Star returned then the truth is we typically carry 4 DT.

Actually, I think Star may have returned 1 - 2 weeks prior to Cole being cut.  Star missed weeks 1 & 2 (9/13. 9/20).  Cole was cut 9/30.  It was CJ's injury (9/29) and bringing in TWO replacements at DE (Allen & Delaire) which most directly led to Cole's being let go.

But yes, it seems over the past few years we typically carry only 4 DTs on the active roster.

Offer is still on the table. Love is either going to except it or he won't.

Gotta be tough for him. He probably feels he deserves more, but the market depresses his real value because of the health concerns. DG knows this and is negotiating accordingly. No love in this game. Dollars are all that matters.

We need this guy. Would like to see some good news on this front.

Then again, G-man gave him a shot after NE tossed his diabetic ass to the curb. I hope that a deal gets done so that no one feels short changed, but it is a business, and we already have his replacement on the roster. He really doesn't have a lot of negotiating room unless other teams are after him. He did pretty well for us, but he's not an intricate part of what we do. I would love to see a young, fast guy that can pass rush....and the draft is deep at DT.

Coconut Water? Supplement sugary drink w protein? No expert on diabetic diets but I think if you match protein w the carb you are supposed to be okay for the most part.

I mean, I would think that water alone would be just fine. Fluids seem to be more important than the electrolytes; I mean he isn't running a marathon here; he just has to last a few hours.

Gatorade has a sugar free all natural flavored drink with the same benefits as the original.

Having Addison makes love just a tad-bit less desirable. I say this because Ealy can move over to DT when needed and Addison is the better athlete when it comes down to it.

Not to mention we are gonna need every penny we can save to possibly ink both Star, Short, OL and KB to keep our core intact

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
