Notorious NASCAR jackass Bruton Smith interested in buying the Panthers

Manages to call the Panthers a "losing team" and insults Jerry Richardson in the same article.

 

If and when the team goes up for sale when Jerry Richardson passes one day, I'll be leading the protests in the streets if Bruton Smith ever gets near this team. I hated this guy even before I read this article.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think this is just clickbait. Bruton Smith himself is 89 years old, 10 years older than Jerry Richardson. This will never happen.

Bruton owns Charlotte Motor Speedway.  He's a colassal douche bag and held the city of Concord hostage over him building a drag strip.  

They have demo'd the backstretch since the sport has taken a nose dive because they sterilized and neutered the drivers.

When I lived in Charlotte I remember how he threatened to physically move the Speedway to SC if they didn't let him build a drag strip.  People didn't want it because of the noise it would create.   I remember one of his representatives was being interviewed on WFNZ, and the guy basically was making threats left and right. I think they renamed a major street in Concord after that.

Its never a good move to hold a city hostage in the long run. But I agree with others, his old ass would have a hard time buying it.

They Sterilized and Neutered the Drivers? I know Z-Max Drag way is struggling. Mainly because of the location and the price they charge. in 5 Years O.B.Smith will be dead anyway.

Yeah, nascar was popular because the drivers had personality and fire.  Now they all act like Jimmy Johnson and now there is no story line to follow.

Bruton Smith will die before Richardson. Or so I hope. He put his foot on the throat of NASCAR's soul and choked it to death. No doubt should be buy the team, he would move it just like he did to a third of the races.
