Lets get this out the way, Panthers Are Not Going To The SB Without Josh

Odds were already stacked against us because we lost the SB, but I knew we were going back

But now without a corner we know can hold his own against any WR it's definitely not happening now. Unless we get that it's not going to happen. Our pass rushers isn't = Ware & Von 2015, even then Broncos still had Talib. I hate Seattle even more now, they kept Sherman, Kam & Earl together. Josh was a reason so many fans and players were so salty last year and I enjoyed every minute of it damn. Good luck to him

We have a decent chance to make it far in the playoffs, but our weaknesses will be exposed against the elite teams in the NFL. Everyone was fine with our bargain bin signings on the OL, praising them as the work of a genius, then the OL got predictably and absolutely throttled by Von Miller and Denver's D. I can see that happening again but with our secondary unless Gettleman can sell his soul to the devil and acquire a real #1 corner somehow. As of now we have a bunch of nickel and dime corners on our team at best, much like we had a bunch of scrubs on OL last year.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
