Trent Dilfer is set to leave ESPN; bruh, what's up with the Total Sports Network?

Some of these networks are outsmarting themselves.  They think they can rule content from wherever and it only gets more and more compartmentalized.

Somehow mtv has less viewers but big facebook audience.

This is my argument for unemployment and more skilled labor needed in the US. There's simply more competition for jobs and the same for viewer's. But espn et al think they can produce the right content and will just play the multi platform card from here on out.

A big PR hit, maybe.  But their ad revenue is fine, and that's what they're after.  These personalities they were paying just aren't cutting it anymore.   ESPN can increase their margins by getting rid of both good and bad talent.  They're evolving with viewing demands; that doesn't mean they're hurting.

Well let's just see how long they can keep up the poo show with poor talent and worse programming.

Nice vid.

Off topic, I do love me some Tom Jackson. He always gives an old school perspective. Do something out of line ... he will call it out,  make you feel guilty and want to apologize about it afterward. I nod my head in agreement the majority of the time .

The fact that ESPN 's home page has political commentary tells you all you need to know about their intentions.

Damn, I literally havent been to espn.go.com in years but this intrigued me.

And you are correct.

Just another reason the only time I visit espn TV is nfl football or the rare occasion these douche bags are showing MLB that is something other than Yankees and Red Sox and feature the Dodgers.

ESPN is turning into MTV. They sold out their core audience years ago for sensationalism and quick ratings spikes and now they are on the downward spiral.

Who is beating them? FS1 is getting killed in the ratings trying to compete.  In fact, ESPN has basically shown that the personalities at ESPN can be easily replaced and not affect their ratings.  Fox has been taking ESPN employees left and right and has not made a bit of difference. At the end of the day ESPN owns the more sports rights to the biggest sports than anybody else. They are only hurting because of rising rights fees.

Add Ditka.

But it doesn't matter.  I don't watch ESPN because any of these guys are either there or not there.  I watch ESPN because I have a Panther Problem and can find no cure.

The irony is its the hack jobs that are leaving. Dilfer was a waste of airtime on any subject.
