Article on perhaps the lowest WR on the totem pole, Stoshak

Jenson Stoshak has a ways to go by any stretch of the imagination to make the roster. To the vast majority of people he is just a camp body (a term I that I personally loathe), but anything can happen if he puts in enough hard work. If Brenton Bersin can become a Panther---arguably deservedly so---then the possibility of Stoshak making the team is not  a complete pipe dream. One thing that may increase his odds, if only by a little, is that he has a tie to the Shula family. At least that's what opened the door for him.

A good recommendation from FAU wide receivers coach Dan Shula, the nephew of Carolina offensive coordinator Mike Shula, didn’t hurt.

“I don’t stand on the table for too many guys, but I did call [Mike] a while back and said, ‘Hey, I’ve got this guy I’d love for you to take a look at and hopefully it works out.' " Shula said.

As David Newton notes, Stoshak's best chance at making the team may mean the cutting of Brenton Bersin.  Bersin's best attribute as a receiver in my opinion is his ability to hold on to the football.  Stoshak appears to be adept at catching, but as Newton also notes, he'll likely better his chances even more by making his mark on special teams, something that he was obviously adept at as well in college.  That just may be the thing that one-ups Bersin, but Stoshak will also have to win against the other guys vying for a spot, several of whom whose play could conceivably lead to both him and Bersin being left out in the cold.

Until the competition begins, let's hope that Shostak actually plays like at least the poor man's version of the guy that he patterns his game after, Jordy Nelson.

Well I for one am glad we signed Stoshak as a UFDA.  I never would have otherwise gotten to see / enjoy the video of him doing those flips and one--handed catches.  The guy's pretty cute.  Nice eye-candy.  LOL.

On just a slightly more serious note... what will the Huddle EVER do if/when Bersin is cut?  Who will be the favorite Huddle punching bag?!  Bersin has starred in that role for what, 2 seasons?

There are 49 pages of search results for the guy on the Huddle!!!  Pretty good for a guy with only 250 snaps on offense in two seasons!   Mentioning Bersin in a thread is a great way to stir up discussion!  I'll miss him when he's gone!

    • did a great job getting us out of cap hell. also did nothing to make the team better once we had a roster good enough to compete for a super bowl for a hawwwg mawlie enthusiast using first round picks on shaq and vernon butler which were luxury picks while strutting out the likes of nate chandler, byron bell, matt kalil, mike remmers to protect your franchise QB was malpractice. and then of course the norman fiasco and drafting kelvin benjamin over davante adams, jarvis landry and allen robinson and doubling down on devin funchess the next year. for a guy that "came from scouting" it was crazy how he drafted 2 tall unpolished receivers simply because Cam "threw high" I remember him and Rivera thinking Byron Bell would be a better left tackle than right tackle because he was left handed lol
    • Beane took over in 2018 after Josh Allen was drafted. He's drafted 2 Pro Bowlers his entire tenure. James Cook and Dawson Knox The Bills had a generational QB fall into their lap and have wasted his prime much like we did with Cam. Alot of parallels and it's even funnier when they've had so many of our former players and built their front office around our old employees
