Jeremy Cash moved to LB

10 years ago we used to have a LB named Brandon Jamison. He was 6'1 and 205 pounds (ended up bulking up to 232 later). Also he wore #57.  He played for us in 2006 and 2007 and was pretty good on special teams. I think Cash will be more like him except much better and much more potential.

dont understand why he can not be harpers replacement.

seems like he has potential to be a stud SS.

If any NFL team thought he had a chance to be a potential stud SS, he would've been drafted. He was a really good college player, but he essentially played as an undersized LB. He played a similar role to what TD did at UGA. They were technically playing SS, but they were lined up in the box the vast majority of the time. When Cash was in coverage, he didn't cover well. He allowed a ridiculously high completion percentage.

Exactly. He'll be used like he was at Duke, and not cut due to his coverage skills, or the lack of. That's a major reason he signed with the Panthers. If he can improve his coverage, great, but the Panthers didn't sign him just to cross their fingers and hope he could become a legit safety. They know his pluses and minuses and have a plan on how he'll be used. I guess we'll see if the plan works.

Plenty of NFL teams are wrong every year about players. Cash's problems could have been scheme or maybe our coaches can coach him up. Harper is trash in coverage, so not sure we would lose anything regardless. Cash seems coachable and athletic enough to play SS imo.
