Well, duh, of course lol

I'm just laughing at comparison. Garrett isn't a fast receiver or the 'burner' type. He's a possession receiver.

That may become truth from the theory, but his 4.53 was not that far off of the 4.51 of Brown. Plus, he did a lot of damage on the outside in college last year with 725 yards and 7 TDs coming on passes 20 yards or more downfield. Sometimes those long legs just take more time to get up into high gear, but once they do...

Of course speed is but one factor. We'll see what happens.

Brah, watch game film. If you think Garrett is as fast as Hill, then you're beyond delusional.

The operative word in Wide Receiver, is receiver.. Hill has hands so bad the Venus De Milo feels bad for him

Dude, Garrett is a possession receiver. There's nothing to see. 40 times mean diddly squat.

Not arguing with you dude. This is silly. He can catch and he's pretty damned fast for his size period. For u to assume I'm speaking out of my booty hole is crazy. He burned top CB talent on 9 routes. I guess you're calling him a possession receiver because he can catch? It doesn't even matter. Key will beat out Hill for the job easily.

You don't have to agree, and I won't brag when I'm right.

Defensive Line (9)

Kony Ealy

Charles Johnson

Star Lotulelei

Kawann Short

Vernon Butler

Paul Soliai

Mario Addison

Wes Horton

Ryan Delaire

My initial thought is that it's very surprising to me you think Kyle Love doesn't get a spot. I thought he played very well against the run last year. Considering we have the luxury of moving KK to the outside for a snap here and there I think big Dave would be more likely to keep 5 DTs than 5 DEs. If Delaire proves to be a true asset in camp I think it's time for Wes Horton to go.

Cahnuh (5)

Bene Benwikere

James Bradberry

Daryl Worley

Zack Sanchez

Lou Young

Note: I just do not see the Panthers signing a veteran cahnuh of note. They would not have cut Boykin if that was in the cards. The Panthers like Lou Young very much. Could be a nice season for him.

I was also surprised, to a lesser extent, about not seeing Robert McClain on this list. I thought he played well for us down the stretch and he has true NFL playoff experience now. With that said, I know zero about Lou Young. How does his speed and athleticism compare to Bene and co?

Garrett will make this roster some way, some how.  I like Hill and wish he would fulfill the potential be possesses but what I am seeing from Garrett the dude is a football player and he fits our scheme.  If he balls out don't be surprised you see Hill gone.

I don't get why any tall X or Z is considered "possession" nowadays but I digress.  I see nice balance in someone like Garrett.   I'm honestly a bit tired of the Hill experiment so he better show up or we need to move past him this year.

I saw this same type of comment on McClain on Kevin Patra's comments earlier this week oh his article on the release of Boykin. McClain was the obvious weak link of the backfield. He came off the couch and played like it. That's what got him released from the team in the first place. He's not good. Time to move him out and be done with him and give the opportunity to someone with more upside.

    • Scheme and fit matter definitely, but if you are an NFL QB (especially a talented one) there will be flashes and some signs. I think the ones that get their careers broken are in inadequate offenses (bad weapons, bad OL, no running game etc…) and a constant turnover of staff can do it. Basically what the Bears did with Fields and what we have done with Bryce so far.
    • I mean when Rhule was on the hot seat and finally got fired, we got pumped and Wilks truly brought some culture back to the team for a brief window. Reich came in and when he got canned there was no hope or excitement, we actually got worse and we are still kinda there until proven otherwise. Some are basically trying to sell this as BY's actual rookie year as well which doesn't exactly draw up much enthusiasm and tempers expectations whether that was their intention or not.
    • Yes, but Bryce Young is what amplifies that concern for me for a super green HC and OC.   it’s all and marriages by Tepper IMO.  Canales and the new OC probably would have a better time getting their O running with a vet QB that is a natural fit.   again, I’m not arguing Canales and Morgan should be catering to Bryce at this point.  Just pointing out how pointless drafting Bryce looks at this stage.  And I don’t disagree you either can play or can’t and the O is irrelevant at this level.   I mean fit matters at this level.  Everyone is too talented.  Fit makes or breaks careers.
