NFL putting Classic games on youtube

Couldn't see this being discussed.

The NFL is going to upload 3 classic games for each franchise to YouTube (Red probably) and they're letting fans vote on which by giving people 5 games to choose from on the teams' Facebook pages.

If you have Facebook PLEASE go here and vote for the '96 Divisional Playoff Win in Dallas & the '95 Win over the Jets (our first ever) which are both dead last behind the 2013 MNF win over the Patriots.

Recency bias sucks and I would love to be able to watch Sam Mills in something other than a highlight package.

While it wasn't a win, our first owl was a really good game.

Wasn't that the same year as the Falcons game where we stopped Vick on 4th and one at home. Also the Dallas screw job on Christmas Eve?

yeah i believe so.  i think the home game in december against the falcons was the first time we had ever beaten them when vick actually started.  and then of course the blowout in the dome to clench the playoff spot.

i never really liked the cowboys but that home loss on christmas eve tipped the scales all the way in that direction forever.  then the two bullshit games in '06 and '07 made it worse.

I would really like to watch this one in full.  Feel it's a key bit of Panthers' lore / history I'd like to see for myself.

Unfortunately, I'm not on facebook, so can't vote.

Its already on YouTube now.

it's been on and off youtube.  i downloaded it the last time i saw it.

one trick i use is to go to youtube and search "panthers" but sort by upload date or filter it to "this week" or "this month".  you can find some of this stuff that way before the copyright trolls nab it.

like this was uploaded two days ago and barely has any views

yeah when I saw they had uploaded the 2003 games vs the Rams and Eagles I was hoping they would have put up the Cowboys game too. really glad they put up the 2005 giants game as well.

i can't think of a reason why the NFL wouldn't be able to make every panthers game in the history of the franchise available on some pay streaming service.  i know we've had games in the past on networks that no longer show NFL games like ABC and TNT but i'm not sure who actually owns that content.

the league just seems extremely defensive of its intellectual property, even things that can't be purchased or gotten from them in any official capacity.  games from ten-plus years ago get yanked off youtube all the time.

anything from 2009-on shouldn't be an option because you can get those games on gamepass right now in HD

the games i want to see again are the ones that only exist in the NFL's archives or on VHS tapes in a milk crate in a panthers fan's basement.  like week two 2005 against the pats.  that's one of the most important regular season games of the john fox era and you can't find it anywhere.

The site is down right now, but you can try out tenyardtracker.com whenever it comes back up.  It's basically an underground NFL super fan torrent site that's dedicated to nothing but NFL games.  You can find basically everything there.

They're pretty strict though.  Whenever you download something you need to keep seeding for a while and keep a positive ratio or else you'll get banned.

I have pretty much every old game on an old laptop hard drive from that site.

Love it if we could buy a "pass" to watch any game full from any season online. That would be beautiful. I have some great games on VHS (05 vs GB on MNF, 08 MNF vs TB, 05 vs MIN, etc) but want them all :(

I've got three games on DVD: the 2003 Rams playoff game, 2004 Panthers-Cardinals game (one of only two games I've ever been to, a 35-10 blowout where Nick Goings and Moose) went crazy, and the 2005 divisional game against the Bears. Plus the 2003 Super Bowl on the team highlight DVD.
