A message I posted on a Bronco forum.

Broncos fans know their team is on par with the bounty gate Saints and the head hunting Steelers of the past. You know your players target and aim to injure.

You know good and well how many times their pass rushers smack QBs in the head and act like they were just going for the ball. You can see where they are aiming before they even go for the ball. You also know they target the back of receivers knees and QBs knees after they launch at the QB with their head. How many times have you seen Ware and Miller throw their legs behind the QBs knees to pin them and then pull the QB backwards?

The Broncos sucked at pass rushing 2 years ago, and now they are illegally taking down players. Imagine if the entire league played that way? Wade Phillips is disgusting. He needs to write a book on how to illegally tackle and get away with it.

Now you celebrate the dirty play of the Broncos and revel in it every time they knock a player out or injure them. It is a ritual for Broncos fans now. You have to revel in it to live with your fandom or you would have to abandon your team and disown what the NFL has given them.

I would be the first one writing my team and creating a campaign to stop the dishonorable play carried out by my team. I doubt you would do the same as dishonorable seems to be the going rate for a Broncos fan these days.

You know what your Broncos are doing to get where they are at. Without it the Broncos would not be getting by the Patriots, Steelers, Chiefs, Raiders, or Panthers. I have seen it done to them all last season, and now opening day.

The Broncos are the dirtiest team in the league right now, and the NFL is protecting them by censoring all the illegal hits to every team.

Learn to tackle. Disgusting, Tainted trophy. The Broncos should not have even been in SB 50 if they were made to tackle legally and you know it. The Seahawks hurt your team so bad, that they got really desperate.

The NFL will be coming for your team once this turns into a scandal of epic proportions, and it is coming,

Irony is that at least the Seahawks are not dirty. My little ponies have replaced the Taints as my most hated.

I think I'm a pretty reliable source to speak on away game venues and you all would agree with that. The Denver crowd was BY FAR the worst crowd that we have ever encountered at an away game. The security was a joke and didn't give a poo. I'm happy to go into detail of all the poo we had to deal with last night, but @Verge is 100% spot on here.

Roaring Riot's section was apparently surrounded by security...   @RoaringRiot tweeted (perhaps in jest) wondering whether it was "illegal" to cheer for the opposing team in Denver.  It sounds like the security wasn't just to protect them, but perhaps to intimidate them a bit or "keep them in line"?   I'll be interested to hear more from Zack what they experienced.

Multiple other Panthers fans there were writing last night on Twitter about being spit on, having things thrown at them.

I really am disgusted with the whole game last night, it's left a terrible taste in my mouth (the least of which is the L and the score), and it's making me seriously reconsider how much time I'll spend following the NFL this year.

Granted pre-season atmosphere is different, but I was just in BoA for the Patriots game 2 weeks ago.  I was in a section on the visitors side with lots of Patriots fans around me.    We Panthers fans booed when Brady came out...  Pats fans cheered lustily and taunted us Panthers fans good naturedly when Brady promptly threw a TD or when Cam was intercepted...  But other than our reaction to the plays, everyone was cordial, polite, chatty,.. fans of their team, but not abusive in any way to the opposing fans.

Makes me realize we really do have something special in Charlotte.   Maybe the undercurrent of wine & cheese culture and southern gentility is not a bad thing as long as Roaring Riot is around to keep a fire lit and shake up the culture a bit!

Our posts crossed!

At some point it would probably be good for the Panthers or others to know more of what you all went through last night.  Can Panthers lodge a complaint? There's no reason visiting fans should be harassed in the ways that were reported last night.

I basically have little to no desire to be a visiting fan at any stadium. I've heard bad stuff from basically everyone I know or anyone I've talked to who has visited an opposing stadium. I got better ways to waste money than having to constantly ignore drunken losers that keep me from enjoying myself. I sure as hell wouldn't take my wife with me to an opposing stadium.

To be fair though I have seen numerous panthers fans act like morons to visiting fans. Every falcons/panthers game I've been to I've seen a fight except once.

You seem like a reasonable respectful person so I def believe what you would say.

People need to get a life.

Same here KB. I might just occasionally watch at this stage, my mini protest lol.

I am probably going to complete my stat modeling of college football prospects from past combines to future success comparison to keep my mind at bay.

The experience I had at Sports Authority for our Thursday night match up was the worst experience I have ever had in any sports stadium, bar none, and overall made me lose faith as a fan of the NFL and of the team of my home state, the Broncos. I had sat in the upper levels next to a couple of cool fans, but everyone else was pretty awful in my section. It started out with being taunted through every moment of the game, pointing myself and other Panther fans in the section, screaming expletives at us, telling us to leave their stadium, and standing up and yelling at us if we did not respond to their stupid remarks about how Cam Newton is a baby, or when they were behind, about how we lost the Super Bowl and the game we were watching didn't matter. Now, I can handle a little heckling, hell, it comes with the territory, to a point, if this was a couple of times, it would have been nothing, this was the ENTIRE GAME. One fan even going so far as to throwing his sunglasses at a Panther fan who was cheering. I did not provoke them, and was extremely calm, I did contact the staff services/security, who didn't ever end up showing up, but it did not stop.

Another thing I had a huge problem with was the cheering for injuries, not just for Cam Newton, but for your own player! When Brandon Marshall went down, my whole section, and even a large part of the stadium started cheering! On top of the remarks about Cam Newton dying, breaking his jaw, and being an expletive of the African American variety. This is awful at any level, and when I heard a loud majority cheering with the injury, it made me truly ashamed. On top of the fact that the Bronco players them selves, were targeting the head of Cam Newton, but that is a whole different topic.

After the game I left the stadium, being met with threats of violence twice, and even breaking up a fight between a Bronco fan and a Panther fan, the Bronco fan threatening to end the Panther fan's life. Walking down the trail to the light rail, I was ran up to and screamed at as well, including telling people to move out of the way of the losers (I was walking with two other Panther fans), and even cutting in front of us in line in the light rail, stating that since we were #2 we get to pick after them.

I have been on this forum for years, am a native Colorado, and have never had a bad experience with Bronco fans, so I really have no reason to be dishonest, and am truly shocked at the environment I was in, and the way the Bronco fans behaved.

Ya man I live in Denver too. I didnt make it to the game last night because my kid is sick, but I have been to a few Broncos games. I remember going against the Steelers about five years ago and half the stadium had terrible towels.

All the losers become fans again after a Super Bowl.  Sorry you had a bad experience.  I think it is pretty common in competitive games. I went to a game in Cincinnati in 2004 after the Super Bowl with a Steve Smith jersey on. It was when Cincy had Carson Palmer and they were solid. Several middle aged fat men called me names and threatened me. Pretty common I think.  People are stupid.

I was at the game and live in Denver ... I never go to bronco games bc their fans are the most obnoxious , rude, orange-wearing ungracious fans I've ever been around.

And last night they were extremely rude to me and I'm a very respectable fan in opponents stadiums ...in not trying to sound like a baby but seriously, it was bad.

Have some class bronco nation
