Fill up your gas tanks

gas prices are already shooting up and there may even be shortages this weekend/coming week especially outside the city.  Work is being done to fix a major gas pipeline to the east coast, until its fixed, its going to be a mess trying to get gas in some places.

Did it yesterday, they already had pumps shut down.

the panic of a possibile gas supply interruption will be worse than the actual effect of the leak.

everyone freaking out and going and filling up tanks and cans is what is causing the mess we're seeing.

I remember it like what ... seven years ago? Because of a storm in Texas I think. That was bananas. Long lines, pumps empty, insane prices.

After living in Europe a while, I have realized that not even the most broke, ratchet, or scummiest person would be caught dead walking or riding a bike anywhere.

didn't say that. it's proof that the native americans gathered together to protest their land being taken away and their water threatened have something to be really worried about.

that said, the panic everyone is feeling that is causing everyone to go running out and fill all their tanks is creating the problem we're having with stations running out.

 

we don't know the actual effect to gas consumers of the leak. all we know is the paranoia brought out by people worrying that the gas is going to be all gone or something..

The pipeline that delivers the gas is shut down until at least Thursday. The stations that are supplied by this pipeline won't get any gas until it's fixed. I don't know which ones will be affected, and I generally fill up on payday anyway, but I did notice about half the pumps had yellow diapers on.

Go back and look how many times this has just magically happened when gas was comparatively low.

Katrina. Some of the stations in Winston Salem where out of gas.

Too bad cars don't run on methane. Eat a ton of broccoli and brussel sprouts and you could be good to go.

So whats going on with this, I'm travelling through Asheville into Charlotte on the way to Wilmington, what should I expect? I plan on filling up before getting into the state cause I dont want to deal with any craziness.
