No corresponding move announced. They have a couple safeties on the practice squad -- Marcus Ball and Travell Dixon.

How severe has this injury been do you think they will move him back up if they need to since they can choose any player on IR now?

I'd say that really just depends on how his replacement does and if there is a more important player that ends up on IR that can return before the end of the year.

Marcus came to mind immediately.  I don't know the whole process, but I think IR means you aren't coming back this year, IR Designated to Return means you can.

That was the case last year. They changed it for this year so you no longer have to designate which player is scheduled to return. You can simply pick one player that was put on IR to bring back once they have spent 8 weeks(might be 6 now) on the IR.

I think I'd prefer if neither of those were brought in to play safety.

If they add Ball, to the active roster, do they fill his PS spot with Wegher, given Stewart's condition?

They've all contributed the same amount at safety .. ah haaaaaaa ...

Safety depth and DE depth are a real concern, and this doesn't help.  I trust Gettleman & Rivera, but we were already thin there, and we haven't really played any elite QB's thus far.

I could see them bringing up Marcus Ball, but he didn't do anything to wow in the preseason.  To me, Trenton Robinson looked better and he is out for the year too.

Whitner isn't what he was, but he would give a veteran presence like a Roman Harper.  I hope Gman bites the bullet and signs him (especially since the contracts aren't guaranteed at this point) unless he sees something in Ball or Dixon we haven't as fans.

We already have Jalen Simmons on the PS so probably not.
