The Sky Isn't Falling

Hey All,

I meant to be more active in the game day thread but my own football games ran long. I just wanted to stop by to say a few things.

1) You guys have a hell of a board. I love the modern look and feel of it. I have seen a couple of team boards and they are mostly pains in the ass to navigate.
2) You team is not what you guys describe it to be. You guys have a great core and you aren't always going to dominate a team. One loss doesn't define a season. Football is truly a game of momentum and you guys could have easily gone up 17 - 2 and put this game away early.
3) 27+ fan bases wish they had your players. You coaches need to stop leaving your OTs on an island. They did it in the superbowl and they did it too often last week.

Best wishes on the rest of the season. You guys are still expected to be the best team in the NFC.

This is a great post. Thanks for this, for being a class poster on here, and good luck the rest of the season.

Appreciate the perspective and class.

You're a good poster, man. It was a joy to have you on here last week and good luck to you guys from here on out. If things go how we all expect, maybe we'll play again in January.

I hope not. I don't want to see your offense again.

No problem. You guys are bless with talent. Every season my team lays an egg in a game you know they should have played better in. Last season we got dismantled by a 49ers team that we had no business losing to. Obviously, I think we are better than that but really an truly, you guys are going to bounce right back. You get the Saints and Tampa twice. Atlanta, should be easy work outside of the GA dome. You aren't going to go 15-1 every season. a 12 win season is easily within reach. I am hoping you guys don't win that many and that you miss the playoffs because I don't want to see you guys in the post season looking for revenge.

Most fans that are unhappy are screaming OT and DE.  Well those don't grow on trees and picking late first round those positions rarely have starters sitting there to draft.  Sorry.  Panthers are no different than any fans out there.  You lose a game and until the next win its armageddon.  Nothing a win on Sunday at Atlanta won't cure.  At least until the next loss that is.

It was definitely a great performance from your defense which is really good! We will see each other again later on this season!

    • It’s not new. That particular claim has largely disappeared because it has become untenable, but a few games into his rookie year when the playbook/gameplan/personnel/everything was terrible there was endless claims, posts, even threads made that Bryce Young was physically incapable of throwing the ball 20 yards downfield in the NFL. It was also argued that physically throwing the ball 20 yards in the NFL was somehow different than college. Once he threw the ball 20 yards, the goal posts moved to 30 yards, etc. I’m not going to use the search function for you, the point wasn’t as much that one claim as it was that that was one claim out of many that has made it very difficult to have a reasonable discussion here.
    • I mean, I can get a ball downfield 40 yards.  There would be a couple massive issues with me doing it.   My ball placement would be off the charts bad.  Second, for me to get it 40 yards I'm gonna have to moon it......which would give DBs the opportunity to make plays on balls that wouldn't exist if a better QB were throwing it.  Which is all an exaggerated explanation of the Bryce issue.  To many play the literal game w/ Bryce when it comes defending him.  Every NFL QB likely can loft one up around 50 yards.  Every QB in the NFL can't get a ball 30 yards downfield in the same windows.  Or the same ball placement.  That's the Bryce issue.    But I also think mixed into that is just his QB DNA.    Take a young Brees, it was in his DNA to stress defenses and takes shots.  He would flat out be Delhomme-ish at times.  Which is coverage and assignment altering.  Brees would throw balls into triple coverage 40 yards downfield.  Is that smart? Sometimes it is.  Not because the play gets made but you force the secondary to play honest.
    • Tbf were not going to the superbowl this year so the development of our young wr is invaluable  As a side note 5 of our wr are in their 2nd year or less ( t Mac, Coker, tremayne, horn, x)  It's def a promising youth movement
