I know some of you look down on this, but I'd rather have a great draft pick than reel off 4-5 meaningless wins at the end of the year, as is common under this regime.

With you 100%. Top 5 pick would be fantastic. Not to mention 99s contract is getting cheaper weekly.

We'll be in competition with the Browns for the #1 overall and 7-9 means nothing this year with the Cons being good. SO yea winning means poo atm quite frankly. And maybe losing badly will cause change so if that helps get rid of some fat I'm gtg with that.

Totally disagree. All we are promised is today, so I want to see my team win as many games as they can. Winning those 5 "meaningless games" will be 5 joyful Sundays where I'll not be in a bad mood for the next week. I'll take them! I love to win.
Also, I don't trust Gettleman to capitalize on a top draft pick.

It's always too early. Unless you need a QB there is no evidence to support that tanking helps anything.

That being said i've lost all hopes of us doing anything this season. Our deficiencies on defense are simply too big to overcome. Gettleman should face heavy questioning for this historic dismantling of a 15-1 team.

Atlanta lost so if we had a chance coming into today then we still have the same chance. Wouldn't mail it in yet

Im frustrated just like everyone else but it's nut over yet. Yes the secondary is plain out horrendous but things can change. I didn't think we win the division but I am still hoping for a wildcard

Yes. I will never root to lose. I don't want a team playing to lose for draft position. Plus, we have competitive Cam. Cam will never play to lose a game. They'd have to put him on IR and let DA handle it.

this, plus other players who might be interested in joining the Panthers don't want to play for a team that purposefully tanks. You play to win for yourselves, you play to win for the fans, you play to win for pride, you play to win for next year's contract, you play to win because That's Your Job.

Do you have any admiration or respect for the players on the team?

You realize that THEY don't want to lose, right?

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
