Tony Dungy says Ron Rivera and Jerry Richardson need to step up....

Dungy is absolutely right.  He shouldnt have even needed to say this.

As i pointed out in the gameday thread, RR literally had to hold Ken Dorsey back aft er Cam got hit, and ordered him to stop and get back.  I repeat, the head coach watched his QB take a cheap shot and possibly be injured go unpenalized, and instead of reacting accordingly, he tells his QB coach, who is  rightfully outraged, to be quiet and sit down.

After Cam went back to the bench, he looked absolutely depressed and drained.  It looked like Dorsey was apologizing to him.  It was just a sad scene altogether.

Enough is enough, and enough happened a long time ago.  Ron and JR are long overdue for speaking up for Cam, but they havent.  If seeing that today, or the headhunting by Denver, or the numerous other cheap shots he has taken wasnt the tipping point, IDK what is.

Show some fire and protect OUR QB, Ron...  or we can find a coach who can.

I agree 10000000%. Ron or DG or Richardson need to come out and say something. Cam shouldn't even be fighting this battle and leading the charge. Mentioned before, Cam is sick of it as well    The funny thing though, I don't think Campbell went to intentionally take him out as he was trying to apologize I believe. But this was the straw that broke the camels back. I'm interested in hearing Ron tomorrow

Does anyone have the clip of Dorsey going off?

But that's the thing...  it shouldnt take him a day to process this.  He shouldve been demonstrative on the field and in the post game presser.  Its getting old.  Idk of any other tenured coach who would allow their qb to take ONE of those shots, let alone several seasons worth.

ITA with you. I mentioned that because I'm sure it will be brought up tomorrow and I am just about on the edge of my seat to hear what he has to say.

I also agree with your previous post. Enough is enough and enough happened a long time ago. I think it's not good for the organization to have Cam pissed about it but feeling like he has to be the one to say something because they won't. It's disturbing. I don't think anyone will say anything or be fired up about this, and that's sad. Rodney was also spot on mentioning him not getting the benefit of the doubt because if size and comparing him to Shaq.

This organization needs to back him. Not TD and Benji and Kalil and Trai. Coaches and the owner.

You're goddam right.

far cry from Howie Long and Michael Strahan saying it's Cam's fault for dabbing and that he needs to shut up and eat his humble pie already.

When did they say this? I would like to listen to those mouth breathers say that poo poo.

Very true.  That play was a potential shredded knee waiting to happen.  Should be called 10/10 and I've seen much less called for a defender even coming into the area low.

Compare that to Matty Ice getting calls for defenders touching him.  NFL and refs have no excuses!  Ron needs to step up.  Enough is enough!

I'm guessing Ron had to give his balls to JR some time ago.  Maybe Jerry is dictating exactly who will say what to whom.  He can't control Cam in the heat of a press conference, but I'm certain that Jerry has made it clear to Ron and Dave that PC is the only way to be in his org.

I would be very surprised if there weren't conversations taking place behind the scenes and/or if the organization wasn't going to bat in any way, shape, or form through non-public channels. However, whatever they're doing (I'm again making an optimistic assumption) is clearly not making a difference and I do agree that some outward and public support would be welcome.

I will every surprised if there will be some conversations on this, seriously.

That's  bull the b--chez can't handle a dance they need not to play football. Talking about my feelings got hurt cause he did the dab.   They sound stupid..You can't humble a guy thru illegal procedures. There is a difference. It would be different if he was being humbled within the rules of the game ...Cam is playing handicap out there and thats all they can come up with be humble ....strahan needs to come sit on the couch he can 't think of something intelligent  to say....Please don't dab on me  Cam  you hurt my feelings now I got to take you out! ,,,Sad but thats how some of the players think..Cam looks at it the right way the?way the game is suppose to be played with fun and passion...Not out there trying to handicap someone.

Amen!

That was to keep the Panthers from getting a 15 yard penalty assessed by the refs when we were in field goal range. That is smart game management. Ron preaches keeping a level head and don't do something stupid that hurts the team. That applies to players and coaches.

If there was ever a right time to lose your sh-t, it was then. I know we were in FG range but suppose he would've torn his ACL and we had to put the rest of the season in DA's hands. Even with him keeping a level head, he should have been fired up in his press conference. It infuriates me.

At this point I don't  even care about winning a game...It is about preserving Cams health..so what ..15 yd penalty ..he doesn't  care if teddy williams gets penalties  for 15 yds this means more.. like I have said I have grown tired and just wish Cam was playing for a better franchise..This is a poor management top to bottom...If you not going to protect your qb why did you resign him...

Sack the opposing QB 8 times a game and this problem will go away

I am pissed as anyone at the NFL for continually letting Cam take late and cheap shots, but if the defense fugs up the other QB, at least it's fair and we probably won the game.
