Why is there so much effort put forth by people to discredit Cam?

I've never seen so much effort put forth to try to discredit a player's claim in all of my years watching football. Cam Newton feels like he is not being treated fairly. We all watch every game, we all know he isn't. Why are others that don't even watch our games commenting on it? When someone says they are being hurt, no one has the right to tell them they aren't. You can't just say "No you're not". Who the fug are you? How can you feel what another person is physically feeling?

Michael Vick used to run a lot. I never remember this situation swirling around him. Maybe it's because he protected himself better like the NFL says Cam isn't. Maybe he had better "running posture". Maybe he did all the right things Cam isn't so that he isn't getting all the hits. Or maybe just maybe the reason Cam is in this situation is because he has been hit more than any other QB over the past few years yet doesn't have the calls like every other QB has gotten to show for it? Couldn't be that right?

Outside of Panther fandom, Can is fairly disliked due to how much he celebrates on field success. You know how most of us hate Brady? That's how most non-Panthers fans feel about Cam.

I love his enthusiasm and joy, but gotta take the downside of that as well.

I don't like Brady that much but I wouldn't be able to justify a hit on him like Cam had yesterday.

it's because he's big, strong and can run. oh and he celebrates on the field. no other quarterback in the league fits that description in any way. other qbs are tiny little babies who can barely pick themselves off the ground because they're so weak, all clocking in at 6+ seconds in the 40 and of course none of them have the audammdacity to celebrate, much less have their own signature celebration.

You are adorable, you know that?

I think a lot of people just don't like him because of all the celebration last year,. We all know that neither Cam Newton or the Panthers were celebrating just to make fun of other teams or be clowns for no reason, they were celebrating because they earned the right to do it in my opinion. But a lot of people (non Panther fans) fail to see that and they view it as the Pantehrs were a bunch of obnoxious goons who had an "easy" schedule last season who were asking to be put back in their place. And Now the the Panthers have lost to Denver twice and started this season with  bunch of Ls, people feel vindicated that the Panthers and Cam are getting "what they desrve" for being arrogant clowns last year (not what I believe, trying to explain how other NFL fans think) . I think also last year a lot of other fans were either satly that their team was on the receiving end of our wins/celebrations, or satly their team wasn't having as much success/fame as the Panthers were last season.

I hate to play the race card but yes there are some that don't like Cam because hes Black.

Some people don't like him because of the way he dresses, talks, behaves, etc. The SB press conference , Cam not diving on the ball in the SB, and Cam showing he was upset near the end of the SB, just provided the perfect storm for the haters to have a field day with Cam and our losses this season are only feeding their frenzy. Lot of people just call him Crybaby Cam and critsize him all day for being child-like for walking out of press conferences and not dealing with losing in a way that these people view as "mature."

In my opinion he doesn't fit the way these people WANT him to be (Stoic QB that never complains, always answers questions appropriately). I think his personality and style of play and the way he hates losing just upsets people because its not what they believe in or want in a QB I suppose.

My personal opinoin? I honestly think Cam COULD be better with answering questions. But at the end of the day, I really don't blame him for walking out of the SB press conference, I don't blame him for being uspet in loses and elated in victories. I don't think this means he's immmature, it means he's wears his fuging emotions on his sleeve and loves the game. And he's totally justified in saying he gets these missed calls.

Its bullshit that these players and talking heads  (and other nfl fans) are throwing these stats like (Oh so and so QBs have had more missed penalties), its likely that alot of these people don't even watch all the games like we do (and the coaches and players who side with Cam do obviously). WE see game in and game out that Cam does not get these fuging penalties for illegal hits that other QBS get in their sleep and CAM does too thats why hes fuging upset, he's probably even more upset that all these clowns are going out of their way to discredit him for calling the league out. Hopefully it lights a fire under him and he plays out of his mind (after the NFL presumably tells him to shrug it of "alot of other qbs get way more missed calls agains them herp derp).

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
