Maybe. ...but based on what?

I have re watched every game except the KC one. And I only pay attention to Dayrl. Let me tell you. He looks legit.

Now, there are plays where I am not sure exactly what his responsibilities are, but even so. He rarely gets help, he works well with Trai, he rarely loses his guy in the run game, he also has a real good punch so guys don't get into him easily.

There is no way in Hades he loses his job. He is just too reliable. He is leaps and bounds better than Remmers was.

It is going to take a talented RT to take the job away from Daryl. I don't see the team wanting to waste talent in that way. Leave the kid alone and concentrate on that pesky LT position.

I just mentioned this in another thread. I'm a fan of big Daryl and remembered that he has experience playing LT, playing wel against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. I feel like he should be given a look at LT. He would need coaching up in the pass protection, but could be the most physical LT we have ever had and would help the running game from that side instantly.

Sigh.

With the 40th pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Panthers select Amini Silatolu, Guard, Midwestern State.

Change that sentence around to who Hurney should have picked, and this entire mess of an offensive line may look a hell of a lot better.

1 pick later.

Yes, I'm still pissed.

You say this like Hurney was ever good at second or third round draft picks

I think he stated that he prefers to play only right tackle at this level.

I don't see him losing his job now because I don't see Oher coming back, but if it was an option I think Rivera would probably bench him for Remmers again.

He's certainly had his rough spots, but what guy starting his first season doesn't?

It's like watching Kalil's book play out as a live show.

I hear what you are saying about Rivera. We have all seen him bypass youth for Vets that seem to be losing it. I just don't see it happening with Daryl. They drafted him to play RT, and he is playing it well.

But...only time will tell if playing well still keeps you your job.

Then of course we have to worry about whether Oher is coming back. If not, then Daryl is probably safe. Unless Daryl screws up and does a 180, he will probably be our RT for the foreseeable future. Which is a good thing IMO.
