Joe Thomas Sr., the father of Packers linebacker Joe Thomas Jr., is believed to have made history Saturday by becoming the oldest player to play in a Div. I college football game.

Thomas Sr., who’s 55, got a carry for FCS program South Carolina State Saturday. He gained three yards and made both history and headlines.

Thomas Sr. had last played in a football game in 1980, when he was in high school. His return came with the full support of his son.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without my father,” Joe Thomas Jr. said this week. “At first, I thought it would be really weird. When my teammates found out, they’d say things like, ‘Your dad is coming for your spot.’ But he’s a grown man, and I wasn’t going to get in the way of his dreams. I’m happy for him now.”

I'm 24 but I'm sitting here thinking about  just going through a practice at age 55 and thinking hell no to myself.
