Why the hell did we draft Shaq?

Shaq pretty much is a tree as much as he stands on the sideline.

I love the boy. I'm not saying he can't play. He's probably the best tackler on this team; even better than Luke. Once he get his hands on someone, they're going down. And it's full perfect form tackle.

Problem is the fuggin coaches don't play him. I don't know what it is. Maybe he can't cover TE, WR, RB? I don't know. But I thought some draft experts said he could be a Safety in the NFL. So I dont see why he can't cover other guys.

Plus, I don't know how much of Luke and TD is taking away from him by being on the field with both of those guys. But, a full 60 min game you gotta be able to do something. Offenses game plan for #59 every game. Shaq should be able to show something occasionally.

I understand that he plays a different position but wouldn't have made more since to have the better cover LB playing in that situation.

Yes, However Klein was the play caller like Luke If I'm not mistaken. Can't really take him off the field.

In hindsight I think I dislike the Butler pick a whole lot more.

There's a bit of logic to taking Thompson but with Butler:

A) you're taking a rotational player for second straight year

B) there were talented players at positions of need on the board and we really needed one after the offseason we'd had and the plan for the next rounds

C) there's no excuse to not resign both KK and Star. None.

D) dude are you serious do you not like being a general manager or what

I'm totally opposite.

He was supposed to be rotational this year.  How many rookie defensive tackles start in the nfl?

Iff KK walks and Butler balls next year it will be a good move.  Why do you assume its so easy to sign people? You realize both sides have to agree on the deal, right?  KK could easily have held us hostage for more than he was worth if we didn't draft Butler.

Now if we actually used Shaq and ran buffalo nickel oftenthat would have been a good move but right now it looks bad.  TD's physical decline has been pretty obvious this year so IMO if Shaq was even close they would let him play a lot more.  If he doesn't start next year I'm very worried

So the Butler pick was based of "if's"? So what if they resign Short? And since when does an NFL team need two high caliber DT?

Keep in mind the games which Shaq got the most snap Falcons and Saints our defense got lit up like a Christmas tree.

We play in the most pass heavy division in the NFL and instead of drafting secondary help or a pass rusher we drafted  a LB who barely plays and a DT.

Short isn't "walking" anywhere provided we pay him what he is due.
