Kuechly yelling on the sideline

I'd agree with whats been said so far that when it first happened, it certainly seemed as if Luke Kuechly was going off on Ron Rivera.

After watching further into the game though, I'm not dead certain that what we saw was actually Luke taking Ron to task.

NBC showed a clip of Luke talking to a ref about something that happened on that long TD on the prior play.  Didn't appear he was satisfied with the answer they gave him.

It's possible, then, that he was just heatedly relating what happened in that conversation to Rivera rather than talking at him.

Plus, to be honest with you, yelling at a coach - especially the head coach - on the sideline just doesn't seem to fit in Luke's character.  Teammate?  Sure.  Coach?  Eeeehhh...

Now, is it also possible that Luke was indeed pissed at Rivera?  Yeah it is, but I'd really need to see more of the actual footage of that (couldn't find video online anywhere) hear some further info from the parties involved or at least talk to someone who's a better lip reader than I am to say with more certainty.

Regardless of the true character of the discussion, I'd have to agree with one thing others have said.  Specifically, that Rivera's stoic reaction was kind of annoying and did a lot to summarize how the whole game played out on our part.

So on this topic, info, video, or speculation...Fire away.

Rivera doesn't call defensive plays so there is really no way Luke was yelling at him for something he did. More likely an defensive alignment issue or something the refs missed.

Btw, he clearly was pointing to the other side of the field saying "that was f****** BS."

Totally taking a stab in the dark here, but remember when Ron made Shula stop yelling at the refs awhile back about not throwing flags on Cam taking repeated illegal hits? Maybe that's what this is about. Luke was clearly pissed at the refs about something. Maybe Ron refused to take up the cause and Luke was sick of the poo. He may have gone off on Ron about not speaking up for the team when calls weren't going our way - calls he saw as obvious. That would seem to fit with the situation.

Again, 100% speculation there which is all any of us have right now.

Ron knows he's lost the team.. I hate I because Ron is a really good guy and has been through a lot the past few years. He's really put his time in a bad situation this year. Ill never dislike Ron but we may have to look for a fresh start while we still have all the talent on the roster that we have

Like the fact that Seattle's OL could basically tackle our guys and still not get a holding call tonight?

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
